THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so the guy still wants to paypal me a grand.

ive just never used paypal for more than like a $200 item and dont want the money to go missing in the internets.

i should stop worrying right?

i told the dude that it would be 30 bucks extra to cover the paypal fees, and his buddy can pick up the tires as soon as the money goes from paypal into my bank account.

do i have anything to worry about it?

i just dont want the money to go missing somewhere along the lines and him get pissed at me thinking i screwed him.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I've used paypal before to pay someone, but it was way less, more like $100.

Worked fine.

Have him cover the fees, do it as goods, and I would think you'd be ok.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ive used it tons of times without issue.

just don't like the idea of $1000 floating through the internets.

im sure it will be fine

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You could get screwed if he makes a paypal claim, paypal dispute arbitration is a XXXXing joke. A friend of mine got screwed via it on a thousand dollar site analyzer when the guy didn't request shipping insurance, ups treated it like rodney king, and the buyer filed a claim. Paypal gave him all his money back and said to ship the busted shit back to my friend, he never did, friend complained to paypal that buyer didn't hold up his end, paypal ignored it. XXXX paypal, never use them if you don't know and trust the other guy.

I use PayPal a lot for ebay stuff, never had a problem. Paid people and received payments through forums, ebay and other places a few hundred bucks, no issue. If you're really worried, type and print a transaction doc up, sign that you received the PayPal'd funds, that the dude picked up the tires AS-IS and have him sign and date.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

all i know is the dude is on pirate with 52 posts and from virginia

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ill see if hes on any other forums and if anyone can vouch for him

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Check the bad sellers and buyers forum. Also there was some guy making a bunch of different accounts on there and ripping people off a while ago, make sure it isn't him.

Honestly he is probably legit but I don't like risking that kind of cash on the internet when I have seen it screw over friends before.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So Bill, you know how your XJ randomly dies sometimes? I was just thinking since I had to buy an adjustable fuel pressure regulator recently.

Did you get one with vacuum reference?

I think the 96+ OBD-II fuel setup has the computer modulating the voltage to the pump when reading the MAP and using that to adjust fuel pressure, instead of the vacuum referenced regulator at the fuel rail on OBD-I 4.0s.

If you have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator with no vacuum reference, I would think that would be an issue? The computer can no longer control fuel pressure via the voltage it's sending to the pump since you're regulating after the pump.

Don't ask me why I thought of this, it just popped into my head.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The 96+ setup just feeds 12v to the pump via a relay, the pump assembly has a fuel pressure regulator built in. Its the stainless assembly on top of the sender on 97+, and inside the tank on 96s.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Oh ok.

I thought I had read somewhere about the voltage modulation or something.

Scratch that. But either way, does yours have the ability to vacuum reference Bill?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anyone know of another brand of paint that has the same finish as RustOleum Hammered? I'm looking for a red color but the RustOleum is only avaliable online in case form. :(

I don't get why the dude can't just give his friend cash.
This. Don't screw with it Sam.

Yeah, Ken is right, at least that's what my FSM states.
I think it was the junky sensors I had on it, you know the brand. I went back to Mopar ones that came off one of the other XJs and it has seemed fine for now. Only time will tell. Not a huge deal really just sometimes slowing down to a stop on the brakes.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Im getting free fuel carmelo style

sitting here waiting for the pump in the plow truck's tank to empty it into the red jeep is getting annoying though.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

BUILD QUESTION!

currently building my 14 bolt.

97% of all trusses out there are those silly little things made for link mounts, and dont do much for the housing.

do i need to worry about the housing strength of my 14 bolt?

the rig won't be light, will likely stay on leaf springs its whole life, and will eventually be flying through the air. all on 37's-40's.

i want a clean look with no mud or anything to get in there and im kinda too lazy to make one.

arctec makes one thats just a buncha plates welded together and it looks gay.

i like the look the the tnt trusses, but they dont hsow a pic of thier 14b one.
http://www.tntcustoms.com/axle_trusses/rear.aspx

GO!

the dana 60 will be trussed the same time i link my front end whenever that may be.
