THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Will a motorcycle shop be able to refill my airbumps with nitrogen to my desired pressure? Id liike to let the pressure out so I can set everything at full bump, not just best guess and hope it works. I also wanna double check the pressure in my 7100's, they're supposed to come charged, and the feel like they are, but a couple people have gotten them empty.

Question for you smart peaple would having a shitty scrub radius due to my awsome wheel give me a shitty turning radius? I don't understand this fancy talk but I do know that my turning radius sucks, chris/travis howas the turning radius on both of your shitboxes?

I think it just makes it harder to turn the steering wheel :dunno:

Yes.

Here's an easy picture of what scrub radius is.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Watched the first episode of American Moonshiners last night.

Needless to say, as some of you probably could surmise, I'm not impressed.

Thanks Ken for the reference on Pirate.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I would think the combination of spool, lockright, and stock XJ pitman arm is killing you more than the scrub radius.

But I don't know much about scrub radius.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Why not, isn't this the way you've done the rest of your Jeep?

:gee:

Probably what's gunna happen, I've got it all figured out with the 3" stroke of the airbump. I just wanted to cycle it all before burning the cans on solid. I made some fancy set screws in the cans like Chris did to hold the bumps in. I even found some tubing and got the PS fancy shock mount almost done.

His front dig radius will compensate for his scrub radius.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm gonna order the lakewood bellhousing and all the shit for the NV4500/NP241 on Friday.

Then all I need is the doubler kit and NP205. I have a line on an NP205 already.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hey Colin. I know it's not strictly Mopar, but somewhere in the vast resources of your family, would anyone happen to have a dimensioned drawing of the 4.0 bellhousing pattern?

edit: or anyone else here, for that matter.

Extremely doubtful.

I don't really have any resources that work at dealers or anything.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Wasn't thinking dealership, was thinking more like in some dusty ol' reference book somewhere on someone's shelf.

Efforts to find info to mate the 4.0 pattern to a Ford 3.0 Vulcan patten have so far been unfruitful.

All the reference books my resources have are from the 60/70s

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just got off the phone with ORD (Offroad Design).

They're going to take a look at clocking options that I'll have for the 241 as well as the 205.

I told them specifically what I had and he's going to give me a call back today/tomorrow with what they can do. Should be around $5-600. Not too bad.

I'm gonna give lakewood a call later and see what size flywheel/clutch I can fit in there. Some people claim a 12" will fit, others say no more than 11".

EDIT: I think I'm actually going to be able to have my drivetrain together a lot sooner than I thought

I'm still hoping to have the majority of the cage finished by the end of this year so I can pull my current drivetrain and get a mockup 440 in the engine bay to check clearances and whatnot.

Baller. Forgot that the 4.0 is the same as the 4.2 is the same as the 304/360/401.

Just found a scan of an old AMC factory blueprint. Looks like I'll be spending some quality time in Solidworks later today...

edit: XXXXer! The Y-coordinates are chopped off. :(

That pic does nothing for me

I know the spool must have a little and the. Piman arm I got is to short for the 60 but if I went with a longer pitman arm the tie rod would smash it and the lockrite is irelevent in 2wd I guess ill just deal with it
