THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Sammy Samsonite, I have a spare used XJ front shaft. Adam stole my other one, but I got it from JeepsUnlimited in Prov for $25 shipped. He always has auctions so you can get one there for like $4 if you pick it up (from the ebay auction).

OH SNAP! ima look into that.

i just dont feel like digging through the snow and ice in a junkyard for one

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i can bring measuring tape.

i need 2 at thew moment. one is about to explode

If you figure out the length shafts you need, I even have a sweet HD Tom Woods shaft from black jeep, along with some others.

No prob...I don't mind the butt crack split in my windshield. It's the 3rd one on this XJ, always splits right at the bottom center and just goes straight up.

I found out that I have to actually buy the windshield for red jeep. Im now being lazy and putting it off until it becomes a problem.

ill have to measure. dont know if thats compressed or extended

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

40 sheets of Dynamat. Literally stripped the whole inside and covered everything.

Anyone else not see the point in this? I feel like the dynamat would hold even more moisture. Not to mention it's an XJ on 35's, how loud it is would be the last thing I cared about.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

When I put new carpet in my Nova, I used knock-off dynamat. HD has something like it too, its basically two layers of foil stuff with some deadening material inbetween. I noticed some less road/undercarriage noise and such afterwards. I dont really see the point of it on anything besides a stocker XJ, maybe used as a heat barrier but heat shields and stuff is a different story.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

that shit you used is basically just aluminized bubble wrap Ross, I would never put it in a jeep especially over the exhaust...

I wouldn't use dynamat either. I could care less about noise, I want corrosion resistance. A 100% stainless XJ with a 3/16" wall boxed frame would rock my world.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think most cost effective stuff on the market right now for that sorta thing is B Quiet and it's what I bought for my VW. I got the ultimate and the Vcomp. The silver-lined tar is for deadening, the Vcomp is for sound blocking.

http://www.b-quiet.com/

I would never waste $ on that for a XJ.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Grinding is silly. Get some blackbird customs brackets and to run 3/4 ton chevy calipers/rotors and clear 15's with no grinding.

That isn't a cheap option.

$140 for the brackets

plus 3/4 ton calipers and rotors (which i would buy new anyway)

sounds cheap enough to me! unless im missing something...

I guess.
I don't consider $140 cheap. :dunno:

Seems like a decent option.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

As much as I'd like to back Mark up in the OX thread, I don't have any experience in selectable lockers. But that ROBERTK dude just seems like he has a stick up his ass. Kinda disappointed I bought my gears from him.

i'd rather do that than have to sell my current tires and buy new tires.

or spend four hours grinding, and potentially have issues down the road

I wasn't arguing don't do it, it does seem like a good option.

yeah, I view "hey your caliper snapped in half" as a fairly major thing to avoid even the possibility of. I'd grind calipers a little, but not more than say 10-15% of cross section.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I've wheeled with someone that has an EATON E locker and he hates it, Mark has OX's and loves them, I've never talked to anyone about their ARB though.

Oh and Adam, I hate you now.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah seriously.

I've never seen Mark's OX fail to engage or have ever seen him have problems with it.

Other than the lever popping out but that was his own fault :D
