THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

First hand experience with these was spinning out ending up in the ditch backwards leaning against a tree, in my now totaled 2nd gen 4 runner...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

since we are talking about tires. here are the tires that i have beaten the piss out of and what i think of them (none of that bullshit before the axle swaps)

boggers- gay everywhere. but i felt like a badass running them

creepy crawlers- they make love to any kind of terrain and then climb up it. only downside is they wear kinda quick on pavement

tsls- suck dick in every possible aspect

irok bias- relatively awesome, wear kinda shitty, decent on the street

km2's- awesome. pretty much the perfect all around tire. no complaints.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

In your opinion Sam, would a set of Iroks be good for a non-DD XJ? for the money, they seem reasonable, and like I posted they seem to be hit or miss. I think a lot of it comes down to the rig... I've seen iroks suck dick on big trucks, and zuks with em go great, and I've seen creepys that make a zuk sit in place because the rig doesn't have enough weight on that stiff sidewall (guy had em at like 2 lbs and they just wouldn't give) but they do great on XJs and other relatively heavy rigs

So, since you've run them, wada ya say?!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i liked them. they were no creepy. but for the money they were def a good tire. i daily drove em'

i have read on the pirate4x4 that the 36's and 39.5's seem to do better than the other sizes for some reason. not sure if its horseshit or not tho.

i ran the 36" bias

i know this is the shotcrete, but that was so steep i peed myself a little, only class 2 rig to make it in one shot.

sidewalls are pretty thin, i tore one open on a curb.

i ran them at around 2.5 psi with beadlocks and 4 without and slipped a bead once (on the front)

yeah, that's the thing. I haven't looked around much, but at $340/ea on quadratec for the 39.5s, I could get a set of 4 for basically half of what it'd be for a set of 40" creepys. and street manners aren't really relevant, seeing as when it's on 40s it won't be seeing much street time any more :(

The thin-ish sidewalls bit is sorta scary, but probably a risk I could live with.

I've still got plenty of time to decide what I want to do for my next tires; cage first!!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I paid under $1000 shipped for my brand new bias Pitbulls (factory direct) and I've liked them so far.
Granted the price has gone up a little bit, but it is still cheaper than ~$400/tire.

Edit: Maybe not, holy cow the prices jumped. Call around though, I'm sure you can get a better deal than online.

You underestimate every price under the sun.

You underestimate every price under the sun.
Oh come on now... would you like to see my invoice?

DATE 10/31/2008
4 PB2474D 39X1450-16.5 MADDOG $212.84ea $851.36
4 FET Federal Excise Tax $0.66ea $2.64
1 Shipping Shipping $131.08ea $131.08
Total: $985.08

Now that was the four Maddogs, the two Rockers I got a deal on because of the whole out of stock thing so I can't compare those fairly.
Looks like prices have gone up about $90/tire.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just wish the rockers weren't so goddayum WIDE. I'd love to have tires with Texas as a tread pattern :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The 37" bias is only 13.5" wide. There is a 38.5" radial that is also 13.5" wide.

My 39.5" bias are really not all of that 16.5" wide anyway. See here.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

mmm. I supposed I could consider the 39.5 rockers. But, whatever. I'm just blabbering because I'm bored at work. I'm not buying tires anytime in 2011 unless I carve open 2 of my 37s at the same time

I need a cage first, and I really oughta improve my stirrun'

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i wish i could fire peaple for being stupid

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That would smooth things out I'm sure

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I mean after you purchase something. You know the the penny what YOU spent on everything but are astounded by the prices that other people (ex: Colin with the PSC stuff) pay for their things a couple years after you do. It's not really a problem, i've just noticed and I like being a dick...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

my view on tire ive ran or seen first hand
MTR's-my 33's were awsome but seen others sizes work like shit
kevlars, most seem good
KM2's only seen one rig run em, it struggled all day but seemed mostly the rig and drivers
boggers, uh they look cool
ltb's they work in everything, same with sx's
tsl's 42's break alot of shit
claws insanley shittle tire sucks ass in anything wet and zero side traction
thornbirds-i want to run em
pitbuls-they smell awsome when smokin

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Bill, Adam is right. "$1400 shipped"...."ouch."....but, didn't you pay like over a grand for your shiz too? Just cause your's is done and Colin's isn't doesn't mean you can be A MEAN PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread
