THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That's why I am saving all the air ride suspension parts off the freightliner We are cutting up. Between the air ride suspension, seats, and cab, It should ride nice and smooth.

But I need the truck first

and as long as that tire repair was only used to get off the trail, I would do the same. but if any distance on the road and/or speed was involved...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My buddy ron ran 35x12.50x15 trep radials on his xj for awhile seemed like they did really good on the rocks and they were pretty well mannered on the road

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I haven't run a wide selection of tires.

All I know is:

Baja claws = gay
Iroks = gay (at least everyone that I've seen)
SXs = cool
BFG ATs = instant death
MTZs = awesome

That's about it for my first-hand experience either through running them or watching them.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

BFG ATs = instant death
that's debatable, it depends on the driver :roflmao:

when I drive them, they are somewhere between "risk of death" and "instant death" depending on how many times I've tried the obstacle already and how annoyed I am.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

FWIW Scotty likes his Irok's and I'm more impressed by how they look than I expected to be. All the videos I've seen of them in anything soupy make it seem like they suck though.

BFG AT's are an absolutely awesome tire if your rig only ever drives on the street or in the snow and there are no rocks underneath.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Take that idea of 15's and throw it out the window. 15's are outdated nowadays. Practically no vehicles come with them anymore cause they dont clear brakes, including the JK. I like Kieth's idea of a 37" Rocker.

17 is the new 15.

I know plenty of people running 15s on JK's. Occasionally certain brands/models need to grind the caliper a hair, but otherwise they'll fit. But overall, agreed.

:roflmao: grey=true

well... street they're OK but love to hydroplane. snow they're OK. rocks they're honestly not that bad, though I've not tried anything else yet. Dirt they're decent.

rocks or dirt or anything, after you've gone over a bit of mud to get to them? oh hell no. good luck. :flamemad:

First hand experience with these was spinning out ending up in the ditch backwards leaning against a tree, in my now totaled 2nd gen 4 runner...

THANKS BFG! great traction in wet weather!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

my old BFG MT's were awesome in every respect except for sidewall integrity.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I learned the hard way how important sidewall integrity was after tearing open 2 procomp xterrains... well lets just say thats the last set of x terrains I'd buy...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

oh, maybe it's that mine are super de duper extra radially siped along the outer edges of the tread, due to me being too lazy to finish the cut and fold for a few months. Great for lateral traction!

I never ran my MTs offroad, I blew an LCA mount up a week after slapping them on (went a little too fast down a dirt road in Spencer) and they were totally spanked by the time I was getting ready for my first actual run. Slapped the 33 ATs on and promptly fried my transmission, so I didn't get a chance to wheel till camp UJ last summer, when I blew the other LCA mount up about 20 minutes into wheeling and blew the rest of the axle mounts up 20 minutes after that...

So far they haven't held me back unduly except for that hill climb at RSG (:cry:) where I pinched a tranny line, and the hill climb at gremlins graveyard last weekend. Made it to the very top of that one and got stuck, and iirc no one else made it up that climb either, due to being saner and having more awesome tires.

damnit, I just realized I never will get a chance to go back and beat that one at RSG now.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

**CROSSES FINGERS**

I've had no problems with my BF A/T and they've gotten me through everything that Swampers, MTZ's, and KM2's have gone through so far

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ryan, get that damn leaf spring mount fixed so we can go wheeling Saturday :spin1: ATs forever! well till the snow goes away anyways

holy shit I just looked in my account and had many more digits in it than I expected. XXXX yeah bonus! Time to go try and finish fixing the M54A2...

for me,

TrXus = cool
Boggers rear/Radial TSL front = crappy
TSLs = eh
LTBs = good
Creepies = good
SXs = good
ProComp Xtreme M/T = real good

and for what I've seen,

Iroks = hit or miss
MT/Rs = hit or miss
MTZs = sweet
Claws = crappy
KM2s = good
ProComp Xterrains = crappy
all pitbulls = real good
anything sticky = good for commuting

I've been meaning to get to work on those for years now.

I need to set a few of them to ITS XXXXING SNOWING and maybe SLOW PEOPLE: STAY THE HELL OUT OF THE LEFT LANE
