THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I was taking it fairly easy that day... aside from the climb up that ramp next to the rock face. I said screw it and just hammered the shit out of it there, ended up working but seems to have cost me a set of stock UCAs :roflmao:

I know they weren't bent that badly before that obstacle because the springs were making funny noises on the bumpstop towers that they weren't makiing before. Actually, I'm pretty sure it happened when I bounced the front end off that big flat slab of rock the trail crosses at the top. Felt that one and said "huh I bet I broke something there."

At some point, not sure when, I ripped my driver side front shock off the axle (disintegrated the bar pin) and since that was my limit strap, I ended up yanking on the brakeline pretty hard. That's why I ran low on fluid, fortunately it didn't die till I was nearly home and I got back using engine braking and the ebrake.

:roflmao:I was referring more to the unit bearing incident. I just remember stopping and glancing in the rearview before I got out to watch you go through, and I know I saw air beneath both front tires when you went from tree to boulder

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so shall i bother with a trackbar bracket brace like re and fulltraction that goes to the pass frame rail?

YES.

On the topic of Iroks, 39.5s are the worst size ever. The 36's are ok, and the 42's are ok. I would rather not wheel for the amount of time it would take me to save up for better tires, than ever wheel on 39.5 Iroks again in my life. They literally evaporated tread on the trail and didn't hold a bead worth dick.

I got my Creepies (38.5s, which are every bit as tall as the 39.5 Iroks were) two years ago, and they're wearing friggin awesome. Granted, I've cut two - one on an obstacle that also cut both a 38" and 46" Baja Claw - and one from driving on it flat. The two original ones are barely any different than the two I've replaced.

Currently loading up my iPod with some new stuff for the drive tomorrow, and halfassedly packing stuff. Very much so looking forward to this weekend.

.

my 36" tsls wouldnt hold a bead on an 8" wheel worth dick at anything less than 12 psi. and the carcass was so soft that the lugs would just fold over and not grab anything.

i was impressed by creepy sidewalls. nothing rubber is indestructible

there is just enough snow to make my commute inconvenient. in other news, remote start rocks.

we know. i get out in my jeep and turn the key. having a sack rocks

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah that sounds familiar. I even tried the heavy-duty weatherstrip adhesive on the inside bead, which worked actually really well for one day, then it failed too and made the situation even worse.

Yeah the Creepy sidewalls are great. I don't blame the tire at all; anything would have shredded or cut at that spot. I patched and tubed it and ran it as a spare all season.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

probably gonna skip class today, gotta get set up for the pawty

Maxxis carcasses are fawkin sweet!! I still get a kick outta my Treps when I grab an outer lug or the sidewall.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I could pull a Bill right now and brag about how I got them for $350 shipped each, brand new, a year ago.

But I wouldn't do that because they're like $430 shipped now.

:D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Go ahead and make fun of me, but I put some Michael Jackson on my iPod last night.

I put two Dream Theater albums on mine, Scenes from a Memory and Falling Into Infinity.

That should take care of more than half the drive up there tonight.
