THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have attempted no such thing yet. That circuit is completely untouched by me.

I have noticed on more than one occasion the relay for the fan in the PDC "buzzing." I have walked near my Jeep, heard a buzzing noise, and it turns out to be the relay. Never sure why it has done that, but it's happened for a few years, not often, but on more than one occasion.
I'd toss a new relay in, clear codes, and see if it fixes it. If it doesn't, probably a bad connection or wire in the coil side of the relay circuit - lead to the ECU or lead within the PDC from the fan relay to the ASD relay probably.

so i may update my thread, with the o so awsome coil bucket retainers some of you know about
those are pretty badass, I think you will gain at least 400 on the RTI from them :D

Oh yeah... just got back from moving the massivemobile to its temporary host... jeepxj/cj (or is it cj/xj? I always forget) offered to let me park it at his place till it's fixed  hopefully gasket sets and stuff will come in the mail this week and I'll get it fixed by weekend but we'll see. A lot depends on TNJMurray and whoever they decided to use for shipping.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hahahaha I was gonna say, ZING

EDIT: also I don't really wanna rag on trail blazer because he seems like a nice guy and all, but after reading the welding threads he put up in either garage/tools or advanced fab... I'm not sure what to say. I suck at welding but then again I'm not building cages for people.

i try to avoid welding crucial parts on other peoples vehicles.

it's not that i dont trust my work (never had a failure) i just don't want the liability. it would suck if someones front axle falls out of thier jeep on the highway due to whatever reason and the jeep rolls over, bursts into flames into an orphanarium for children and bunnies.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm just tired of people whining about everyone posting their opinions.

This place is becoming one of those "everyone is smart, amazing, deserves a pat on the back".

God, you have a bender, a welder, and apparently some kind of a brain. Use all three and you'll have a nice cage.

Am I the only one that doesn't like to do things if they're going to come out like complete crap?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

sounds like cherokeeforum

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

no... this explains a lack of progress on some portions of my jeeps that I want to get right the first time :roflmao:

so I collect parts, and plan, and realize some of the parts are wrong and sell them for cut rate prices, and collect more parts, and plan more, and at some point hopefully it'll be assembled and go beautifully.

It's why the d30 housing I spent nearly a week redoing the LCA mounts on is now listed on the classifieds for 20 bucks with a note that the new owner should probably hack off everything I welded on and do it over.

we should start our own forum

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think criticism should be constructive - like don't tell people that they are idiots (unless they are being a flaming idiot FIRST) just say what needs to be changed. If they get all bent out of shape and go full retard because of that answer, well, sure, give it to em back.

But I don't make the rules and that is probably a good thing.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I've daily driven an XJ with only marginally more fender than that :dunno:

when I had my fender bender in the 96 I patched it up till it would drive again but couldn't get my passenger door open because the lock was rusted, so I used my saber saw (didn't own a sawzall yet) to cut about the front 2/3 of the fender off and then drove it that way for a few days.

I don't have a code reader, so I can't clear any codes. I'm betting it is just a side effect code set off by the NSS. I did a quick search on the P1491 code, and the few threads that came up had the NSS code as well.

I wonder if it could be related to the extended idle switch I installed, which works 50% of the time I try it?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Could be. Between that and your funky dash light blinking issue, I think something is hosed in your wiring harness.

I have a code reader but it appears to be throwing a tantrum and not clearing codes for me right now. Not sure why.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That dash light blinking issue was resolved a few months ago. The trailer light harness shorted out, and was back feeding into the harness. I disconnected that and haven't had any problems. Harness is fine.

If not, I have a whole nother one sitting in my basement.
