Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The rear axle is almost done now. The 28 shim was too much and the 18 was too little, I'm going to see if I can get a 23 from the dealer tomorrow. But for now I opened up the front and got the diff out and will press off the bearings tomorrow morning to check those shims and make test bearings out of the factory ones.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

What happened?

Nothing specific just a general observation, I do work in Brockton from time to time.

By the way are you around tomorrow Colin? I was gonna swing by and pick up all the junk you want out of the yard.

I did also dodge a bullet today as the sheriff's office was going to serve my ex with the custody papers at my house while she was visiting my daughter, however they didnt show. I really wasnt in the mood to deal with her after that.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm glad that more and more people are seeing the light.

That could have been ugly... This isn't your current girlfriend, is it? Forgive me for asking and feel free to not respond - I don't know all the details...

I've never measured all the pieces in the install kit, but is there a 0.005 shim you could use with the 0.018.

That looks sooo much better. good work.

Ken left my house a few minutes ago. He has a pretty bad head gasket leak on cyl #6. Every compression cycle results in an abrubt release of pressure. Also, we started making the ramps for his m54a2... We got all the angle iron cut to length (my chop saw is da beezkneez) and one of them has been measured square and has all 24 pieces of angle iron tacked to it... I did a lot of welding. Still have to get the other one square and tack on all the pieces. Not sure if I'll burn them home with the stick or the mig. Mig is so much cleaner, but stick has a better duty cycle...

I'm currently waiting on my order from heleta to arrive before I can make much more progress on the doubler... Thankfully it'll be here tomorrow.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So that was an interesting ride. Took the bike to meet up with a few friends who I haven't seen in probably over a year. On the ride to the movie theater (met up and eventually saw 'the other guys') all of a sudden my engine started bucking bad, suddenly RPMs would drop off hard and then fire back up. It ran smooth as silk up to 6k RPM then all hell broke loose after that. Got it to starland (batting cages to kill time and meet) and shut it down...
..fired it back up and it has been running fine all night. Damn carburetors. Gotta clean them again, gotta try draining the bowls tomorrow to see if I get anything out. And I was planning on riding to work in the am, so much for that.

Tomorrow I think I will finish mounting the rear bumper (drill 6-8 holes and bolt her up) and be done with it.
