Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I drank an ice coffee and am more wired than I've been in months...good way to spend a Saturday morning at work.

http://boston.craigslist.org/sob/cto/1577749615.html surprisingly I haven't seen this around town, he must have built it and trailer it or leave it in the yard since I've never seen it. Good deal but who has money & time/space for another project that I wouldn't finish!
sorry I didn't show up, axle shafts took WAY longer to pull than I expected, rusted tight and I lost a critical tool (13mm 12pt) while pounding on it to knock the unit bearings loose. When does crown close on weekdays anyways? I'd like to get there as soon as possible but I'm not sure I can make it during the week with my work schedule.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

swaped out the rk 6.5" coils for some stock coils and 2" spacers, im starting to wonder how low i can go with this rig

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

aah i not only got to my shop to discover my air hose is FAWKED with one of the ends completely snapped off, to find my driver side brake line has been rubbing on my shock boot (the OME shock boots are steel with a kinda sharp edge) and has my line weeping now. ugh. and of course, the last time i bleed the brakes that was the corner where the bleeder screw in the caliper was locked up

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Kyle - if you need it I have a spare d30 caliper made sometime after 97, not sure which side it is. If worst comes to worst, you can always bleed it while holding it upside down and then put it back on. Bleeder valve works on it.

I need to swap out my pass side d30 shaft but I'm feeling way too lazy to do so right now... ahhhhhhh

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i'm going to go spray the poo of the bleeder with PB, but need to get a new line first. i've got the YJ line up front, but none of hte stores around here have it in stock, obviously

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think I just found one of the ONLY cars that I would sell my Jeep in a heartbeat for. Not a moment's thought required. 66 or 67 Charger, needs quite a bit of work but it MIGHT (HUGE emphasis on might) have the 426 Hemi. And there's a very slight chance I could get it at a steal of a price in the next year or 2. Though I couldn't see the VIN plate to get the # and the only parts that make me think it could be the 426 might very well be aftermarket parts... so idk, still have to talk to a few people.

And unless the NAPA brakes suck they have another regular customer. I just went in a few min before 3 (they close at 3 on sat) and the guy's clock is a little bit fast so they were already closed. They re-opened for me but he couldn't check me out because his system was already doing the backup... so he gave me the parts and said "come back monday morning to pay for them". Awesome

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'd go for a 60s Mustang in a second. Don't think I'd sell the XJ for it though... I'd buy one in "shell with a title and motor/transmission" and add it to the list of projects.

OK... time to install new axleshafts in the d30. Wonder if I'll break the bolts on mine?

friendermine has wontons with a 3.5" and 38.5"sx's

you wont like stock coils, mucho too soft. especially with the wider axles there is more leverage put on them when simply flexing, and they will bottom out long before you want them to.

whenever i see some used aftermarket 2 or 3" coils i jump on em and save em. swap em in the rig and see how i like them

my faves so far are 3" tomkens, but they still coulda been stiffer
some no name 2" coil are a close second
rustys 3" suck a nut
stock with spacers sucks

and I have a pair of some BEASTLY thick 2" coils i cant wait to try out.

and i think i might take some 4.5" coils and cut a couple rings outta them and try that out.

...if it IS the 426 then that car is worth selling the Jeep for. I would keep the Jeep and get the car, except I can only have one project car where I am living now... which means the Jeep would have to go, and it would.

On that note, doing rotors on the altima now... nissan are a bunch of tards, they used bolts that are larger than come in a standard socket set (have to pull out my wrenches to find out what size they really are). idc who you are, unless you are working on an oversize truck, aka mack truck or military truck, you should be able to do BRAKES with a standard socket set... tards
