That is still my #1 dream car of all time. If I could get my hands on one of those I would be in heaven.
BUT this car I was looking at is in "needs work" shape... from what I heard the owner was looking to get 20k for it as is (which makes me think it may be the rare one, cause it needs that much work). The guy who owns the land said that "the owner owes me alot of money, if I really wanted I could have owned that car years ago" and also stated that "I would just sell it for 4 or 5 grand and be done with it". So long story short I am HOPING it is a 426 hemi (which could easily sell for 25k in the condition that it is in) and the guy who owns the land gets it since the owner owes him quite a bit of $$.. at which point I already have my name in as a buyer for it since it may be sold for 5k.
Long story short if I could get this car for 5K I would in a heartbeat. Idc if I have to get out of Jeeps for a few years or more. It would be worth it to me. The car needs an engine rebuild and such, but still worth it. I love the 66/67 chargers and if I could land a 426hemi.... idk... a guy my age who ends up with that in my hands... idk. It would be unreal. It is a car I never thought I would be able to afford. It would be like one of those 'barn finds'. I know I won't find a boss 429 so I expect to spend a ton on one eventually (if I ever get one). With regard to the charger I am hoping this is my once in a lifetime opportunity, my barn find... I will leave it at the fact that a fully restored 426 hemi could potentially pick up well over $100k at auction (quite possibly over $200k, but that would be an all original one I would say). I wouldn't plan on selling it, I would build it for me... but just saying, if I can get this car now it may be a once in a lifetime opportunity that I wouldn't pass up.
