T-60 Socket

The Craftsman 1/2" drive T-60 has a little set screw that holds the bit into the base, so you don't have to press it out or permanently change it in any way.

Long live RENIX!! 5/8 hex head on that fastener. Oddly enough i had to remove mine today to do an OIL CHANGE because the PO put the filter on with a robotic hand or something. 7,000 miles ago.
Even so, Renix is basically vertical, VS the rearward facing SOB.

I used a pair of channell locks to get mine off, worked like a charm. I put it back on that way as well. This was on my 97 and the engine was on a stand, haven't paid attention to see if that would be possible while its in the jeep but I bet it woudl be.

Try it

$45 OTD to have a local shop do that job..

$45 included the 3 o-rings and a new WIX filter. The owner of the shop drives a lifted XJ and has an MJ for a parts truck, so I figured it had to be the right place to go..

Sounds like money well spent to me. Sometimes paying someone else to do the PIA jobs is worth it, especially at that price.
