Swamp Lake run Aug 6-8

damn
ill now be at lake alpine that weekend with the fam.
we will be running slick rock and deer valley that weekend

I'm in! Hopefully I'll get a chance to take the new lockers and gears for a test run at Hollister before this trip, but if not... what better way to break them in?

I'm really looking forward to getting out of town and having a little "me" time. I can't think of a better way to spend it. Are there plans for any group meals, or is it strictly BYOF and B? I've got some connections in the meat business...

We always do a potluck on Sat night, otherwise we're on our own regarding food.

Thanks for sharing the pics badgeye! Doe this mean you plan on running Swamp again this year?

I hope to. I just bought a Comanche that wont be ready for a while. I may have to drive one of Goatman's rigs. I will probably go up friday night after work and go in to the lake on saturday morning. If anybody else with a real job wants to meet up we can go in together.

Wow if Ben H is going I am really sad I won't be going! How are you doing Ben? It has been a while I think.

If you're not going, then Eric can take your rig for a shake down run. :D

How would this work for those of us who trailer our rigs. Do we we start and end at the same place?

Does that mean you can't drive it on the street? Or just wonder if we end up back at the same place where your trailer is?

We end up back at the same place, the route is a big loop.

Like Goatman said, if you drive in or out on the west side there is some driving on the street, and you risk a ticket if you are not street legal.

Here is Ben H's map, the "Access Roads" are mostly dirt roads and you will not get a ticket. The Thursday Night Campground is the Dinky Creek camp site:

Well I don't need any tickets. vehicle is hiway capable, no windshield, and a few smog pieces are awol. Can't justify liscencing (spel chek) and insuring it, just to drive it 37 mi. a year. Thanks for the replies guys.

Sweet map, thanks for sharing. Are you going Letterman? I'm guessing you are due to your participation in this thread, but you've never really said one way or the other...

That map was mostly Ben H's hard work, I just made it look better.

I doubt I will make it this year, no time off work and the wife comes back from more then a month away on the 5th . . .

If I have any shot, I might make a run in LATE Friday night, but it all depends on some of the other URF'ers and the kindness of my wife. Just try'in to help get our Sierra Chapter going, and Grouse Lake is a nice place to camp:
