Strawberry Creek Run! Sat. May 17th!

How deep was the snow? Sink much?
I've completed this trail with a few repairs needed but never any problems(3 bolts in crossmember/ front DS bashing header were probably the worst of the issues), then again I usually don't go for the most difficult line either. I worried more about my rear quarters over painted rock than anything else.

I think I've done more damage at "Twin Peaks OHVP" than anywhere else.

The first big rock pile dented Andrey up pretty good.

Only the body metal hanging behind the rear wheel - the one I want to fold up anyway. The door is a different story. I am in grief now.

Thanks to everyone for a fun trip, my kids LOVED it and can't wait to go again. It was pretty cool to be throwing snowballs while everyone down in the valley got baked. Kudos to Phil and Bryan for a good job leading and making sure everyone had a good time.

I had a great time and thanks to everyone who came out and to Phil and Opie for leading the way.

We hit our first good patch of snow in the trail just before Painted Rock. After Phil tip-toed through it took me several tries to clear a path. Who needs a locker when you got a skinny pedal?

Andrey got hung up on his cross member which is now "high clearance"

We came across a large tree and an off camber snow pac. We pulled the tree off the trail and headed back down the way we came.

56k Hell!!
I was wondering about downed trees, I probably would've been sitting on the other side waiting.
Being wife and daughter would've been with me I probably wouldn't have waited long there without CB installed yet.

How funny would it have been to find Harlee was here in the snow spelled with rocks

Looks like fun. Where is this place? I have heard of the Strawberry trail off of highway 88, is it the same one?
Yup, starts at the left side of the Caples Lake Maintenance Station.
Theres usually a wire gate you must open & close behind you.
I've always started from this side (don't know why)
obsticals get progressivly more difficult.

The first time I made this pass there was a fire W on 50,it was closed and I forgot about it.
I recivied some strange looks as there wasn't any civilian vehicles for some hours.
I don't remember how long closure was could've been longer.
I was the only one driving to Tahoe, it was nice.

Never been on this trail so we're going up on the 31st and goin to try and make it all the way through to HWY88. Once you get to the bridge at 42 mile trac is the trailhead marked.

Should not be a big deal by then.

Trailhead is not marked. PM sent - copy the pictures, I am going to take them off.

It looks like your dog is bitting your rock rail. Thats a funny pic, i miss offroading with my lab he loved it too.

Wish i could of maid it, the lady held me back. Is there good spots to camp close to the trail? Do we need a fire permit out there?

Don't you know, painted rock is no more. Somebody pulled the uphill rock away...

Sorry, that was several years when I went solo. First time on that trail.

I do remember now that you say something. I only went once last year.
