So Cal desert rats

The napa warehouse in fontana, I was driving from la and called looking for the part, so I went to the big house! It was car part heaven! The biggest auto store I have ever seen
 
Well guys, my bro was in town and tolerated me working on my xj. Curt bailed me out as always...thanks mr. Mayor!:D.

I asked my bro to put it to the metal, and let him drive it since he was patience waiting for my 1hour project! Lol, it got to 222.1.... but it cooled. 215 seemed an average temp. Ill report back tomorrow post ambient 110 temps and hwy time.

Hopefully it'll burp some more air... it's allot cooler at 2200 than at 1500... I was running 190ish coming home... surface streets & no A/C...

"Bailed"... more like moral support... I hope it stays reasonable...

Hey Aaron 1, when you put your mech fan back on, what did you do with your transmission cooler. I have mine almost exactly like yours and now the fan blades and shroud are in the way of the hoses. Not much wiggle room down there either!
 
So with the zj fan clutch installed driving home today going west up the 86 with 101 ambient temp, I was running at 224! Ill take that any day! Mind u 101 isn't really hot for us out here so I will have to wait and watch. Good signs though so far!
 
Glad to hear it, hope you can avoid the mechanic now. Your Jeep seems to run good.

Ya that's what I'm hoping! thanks for being so damn pushy about the fans! I don't know how to address this with ffdynamics because they were telling me it was something else and it appears to have been just the fans. I don't think they will refund me but I guess its worth asking. I'm gonna go a couple more days and see how the zj clutch responds and then go from there.

Now I have to redo my tranny cooler cause the mech fan is in the way now. Off to the garage, for another night!:D
 
I have an idea....screw hood vents, how about hood fans!!!:p

A puller fan to pull the hot air out might help. Spacing off my hood helped to get the hot air out and did lower my over all temp a few degrees.
