Seth's Jeep

No progress today or yesterday folks. Led had to go out of town for work, Jeff and I were going to be there this evening...then the rain and lightening started. Neither one of us wanted to be working on a big hunk of steel in the rain, half way outside of a large metal hanger....yeah we're wimps.

Chris (XJGrin) went all the way out to the hanger expecting us to be there earlier. Chris I'm sorry for the poor communications on my part. It won't happen again.

I will be there tomorrow evening around 6-6:30 PM.
On the agenda:
Spray-on bedliner on the floor of the cab
Interior needs to go back in
New u-bolts and shims.
Address the gas situation
Brake lights
Double check the battery cables

I'll try to come help. If I can get done with work in time. How late will you be there?

I'm planning on coming up Friday for as long as needed. I...... cough cough..... won't be able to go to work. :D Friday morning I'll need to button up a couple things - my rig needs a new set of 297's and I need to figure out a flag mount and she's ready for Saturday. Then I can come up. PM me the directions please.

Frank, I saw in a pic that the right front turn signal lense is busted, do we need another one? Any other parts that "Troy's House of Heeps" can donate? I have an '89 over here to pick from. How are the seats? I have a set of tan ones that could work under the seat covers if needed. Lemme know if there's anything needed.

sounds like you guys are about done w/ the Jeep. looks great guys!! and again, if i can help donate anything, lemme know, and i'll try my hardest.

Copy that - will bring a replacement signal lense/housing. Thanks for the directions!

I'll be out tomorrow afternoon to help button things up - Whatever it is that Troy has, it is apparently contagious, although I'm pretty sure my symptoms won't set in until lunchtime tomorrow...

First things first. I received the following via PM from Anna, I'm sure she wants all of you to see this.

about Seth's Jeep
To Frank and all the Guys...and everyone who's helped with this mammoth project: ...WOW!!!

Absolutely amazing, incredible, overwhelmingly wonderful...YOU GUYS ROCK!!

I was so sad that I couldn't make it out a few days ago to see all this in action...Oh how I wish I could have made it...

I finally found the pictures (and am still learning to navigate my way around the website)...I can only say that I continue to be speechless by the love and sense of comaradarie that is so strong between any and all of the :NAXJA: members that I've read about or had any contact with...

It's refreshing to find this kind of integrity...

Again, from the bottom of my heart: Thank you for all that you have done for Seth, his Jeep, and my family...You will always be welcome in our family.

Love to all of you...Can't wait to see you on Saturday!!

More progress to report, and a few setbacks too.

Tonights volunteers were Led, Caged94XJ, Zith, GreenJeepXJ, XJNik, and me too.

The interior is back in
New Trac-Bar (Thx Fred!) is in
Driveshafts are in

A few new issues cropped up tonight though.

The links for the swaybar are simply too short, so no swaybar this time around...unless someone has a long set to donate. Quick Disconnects would be great!!

One severly worn out LCA bushing. I'll press the old one out and we'll have that fixed lickitysplit.

The power steering gear box was showing signs of wear, the sector shaft was moving in around in a rather unique manner, it got swapped out with a donor used box.

While removing the gear box the pressure fitting on the power steering pump gave up the ghost...hose was replaced.

Led cut this damn bolt 3 times and it's still too short......

We don't walk on water, but we do work in it from time to time.

Another great night with great people. Outstanding job fellas!

So tomorrow is crunch time folks, the last chance to get off yer buns and help out if you're so inclined. We've got a lot to do and could use some more help. I'll even take your picture and make ya a NAXJA Super Star in this very thread!

So what's left to do.....hmmmmm.
Drain the Transfer case and refill
Install the passenger side LCA
U-Bolts and Shims on the rear axle
Drain the old coolant and re-fill with new coolant.
Still need to check out the rear brake lights
Top-off the brake fluid and bleed the brakes
Weld up the flag pole mount
De-grease the motor
Troubleshoot the off-road lights
Install the sawaybar....if we can get some longer links.

I plan on being up there around noon.

I'm getting ready to head out to finish up the garden audio install at a customer's home.I'm shooting to have it finished by 2:00-3:00 so I can get out to the hangar to help with the home stretch of Seth's rig.
