Who knows these things? I bought one for the truck and I'm afraid to undertake installing it on my own anyone who has done one wanna lend me a hand?

Some comapnies also make plug and play harnesses for their remote starters Doug. You might look in to that.

If you were closer I'd be glad to help you out. If you want I can hook you up with the wiring info and some tips.

if you want to help its worth it for me to come to you, ill compensate you for the time. i just know nothing about this stuff and id rather leave it to someone who knows whats up

Cool, what make and model remote start did you buy? Did they also sell you the bypass module?

its a dei 561r new in box, im not sure if it has a bypass or not but it one needed for all vehicles, im thinkin we may put it in the jeep since she doesnt have a key fob for hers anyway and ill buy another one for the truck.... the jeep is less complicated anyway

If you want to put it in the truck you will need the passlock 2 bypass module. Best buy, electronic express, etc will have it in stock. If you are talking about throwing it on the truck or woody I'd go for the truck just cause I'm sure you drive that more often.

well i was meant the 2000 xj i just bought the lady ;) the woody doesnt even have a radio in it..... does a y2k xj need the passlock mod?

Doug, I have never installed one, but I had to mess with brents when I was doing the LS2 wiring. It seemed really simple, and it just hooked up to the ignition switch wiring (all together and very easy to get to), the light switch, and an injector wire (so the thing knew that it started and stayed running). I'll be up there Friday night/Saturday if you want to look at it together sometime on Saturday.

Just let me know when you'd like to come down and I can knock it out for ya. I've done a couple of hundred to say the least so I know this one would be a breeze.
