I'm ready for another trip to the dunes. How about the first weekend in June, the 2-3?
How about it?

How late can you get in?
FYI...There is a camping limit for the beach. I have showed up on a weekend last summer and been turned away. I believe the limit is 1000 vehicles for camping and unlimited day use.Goatman said:We'll actually be camping in the dunes on the beach, which doesn't need a reservation.
the only reason the dunes would be closed, is for filming or a special event or weekend.. there is no holiday or special events going on then.. THERE will be enough space.....JohnX said:FYI...There is a camping limit for the beach. I have showed up on a weekend last summer and been turned away. I would suggest a reservation, only problem is that they go through Reserve USA which charges an extra $7 per reservation, making it $17 instead of $10.
I am thinking about this one, love them dunes in summer![]()
I didn't say the dunes would be closed? Just "full".Smittty9785 said:the only reason the dunes would be closed, is for filming or a special event or weekend

Camping is allowed south of Post 2 on the beach and in the open dune area. Vault toilets and chemical toilets are provided, but water-delivery and holding-tank pump-out services are available on the beach. Campsite reservation information can be obtained by calling 1-800-444-7275. Campsites are available by reservation year-round and can be made from 10 days to six months in advance. Reservations are highly recommended, especially for holiday periods.
Thats nice. I guess I'm wrong.Smittty9785 said:they wont be full either. there is a 5 mile area of beach and dunes that go back about a mile or so. the limit is much more than 1000. i have been there before when about 1000 vehicles were at comp hill 4th of july a couple years back...
