Rubicon Trip this Summer

I wanna go but I need to find me some 33's before that happens, I'm running 31's now and I don't really like to hang up on most obstacles... Hopefully next year for me!!

What are your rig requirements for this trip?

Dan, you still planning to drive up or tow? The Horizon Casino had free parking last year for the tow rig plus it's somewhat secure with patrolled security.

i think ill be driving up, how about you? the jeep is pretty much done for now, so im good to go.

I'll be towing. Taking the "front way" up (as opposed up 395) that Saturday morning to visit a buddy in Modesto Sat eve.

4 weeks away... I'm getting excited!!

What's on the "to-do" list?

working on getting the rear bumper done so i can get the shackle relocation brackets on, then rear shock mounts will have to be done for those. I have a PSC box and pump shipping out, need to get those installed. I want to do 2x6 rocker replacements, a new Rad would be nice, I also have a transmission cooler I want to install along with a temp gauge.

Mike, you bringing Jazzy again? Reading posts on Pirate seems like there's more Bear visits this year than most. Would be nice to have a sentry.

How do dogs typically handle the long days of wheeling? Considering taking mine. Mike, maybe we can do a quick lw run with the dogs to see how they like each other?

I would imagine it depends on the dog. I took mine a couple years back and she loved it. Keep in mind she was only 1 and i got her used to riding in the jeep.

my dogs love going places with me, whenever i leave, they get all excited because they think they're going. however, i do not know if it's really the fact of being in the car, or not being away from me. i've only taken then wheeling once, and that was in the snow so they were super pumped just for that reason. will the weather be pretty cool up there? if it's going to be hot i may think twice about it, or fix my a/c.

another issue is it may be a PITA to keep them on leash. they typically dont go far off leash, but they will chase a rabbit, deer, bobcat, bear, mountain lion. i'd have to have someone hold the leash if i decide to take them out in a hairy section where rolling is a possibility, which could be a pain.
