Does anyone remember what 2meter ham frequency worked out there? I remember that only one in the area was actually reachable from the lake bed.

You mean with a repeater? Any frequency should work fine unless you have a handheld only. My mobile is 50 watts, most handhelds are 5 or less.

Yucca Valley, great set-up, the only real coverage out there, plus being well monitored. Use it with proper radio proceedure only, and give the locals plenty of room.

146.790, neg, PL 136.5

I use 146.500 simplex for station to station out there.

I will bring a case of Miller Lite...

No you won't. Your drinking supplies are already taken care of.

Nobody here comes back from Iraq and pays for their own drinks at this event. :D

Hah, yea my call sign was almost a keeper.

Somehow I got K6KEV that was pure luck.

I remember you saying it could be a busy repeater, we will all try and be extra nice on the air.

Thanks.

I did label the tail light wire under the dash, incase I go somewhere that I might need it. It would take a 5 minutes to rewire it.

On a related note, looks like it will be a moonless weekend, hope you have at least some headlights Richard.

P

Got lights.

Forward and reverse......or quasi rock lights.

It also starts and runs. :yelclap: :yelclap:

I think I have a better than fair chance of getting enough of it finished to go.

Any chance anyone will be out there with some nitrogen and be able to charge a pair of shocks in case I cant get it to someone sooner?

I'll have a bottle, but nitrogen can get expensive on the lake bed... I'm sure we'll work something out.:eyes:

Speaking of almonds....
What is up with almonds in Japan, a bud of mine says they are treated like
gold there. He wants me to send him a kilo!

Is he still around? I have not heard from him in awhile or seen any post. Maybe someone will bring cake again.....

I think they are one of those things they cant grow there

The export market is huge for almonds as well as most nuts. Japan is willing to pay top yen to not only get the nuts, but to get the highest quality we grow. They get better nuts than you or I can buy in the grocery store...

& yes I'll bring a bunch of nuts to hand out to the nuts... You know, I might just have to make them a raffle prize. Oh Captain :phone:
