I was picturing a smaller rig... black in color with "Princess" seat covers...

Yeah anything that a newly built rig on 35's and locked wiith decent build can handle and be a good test, and NOT shit eater....

What axles, Robert?

That's what makes the difference.

IIRC he's got a 8.8 and a turdy.

......but if holcomb creek is any indication of him and his rig

.........and how long it took us to get off that trail as he humped this little tiny boulder

............I dunno..........I just wouldn't wanna be around him................ :jester:

That should handle most trails out there. :)

As far as the lake bed, we could do a night run spinning donuts. :D

Last weekend, the fullsize guys, and the Blazer guys were in the camp close to us. Some of the Blazer guys I saw in Moab the week before. Paul dubbed it camping next to Sanford and Sons. :D

Well, bright and early Saturday morning, this monster full sized chevy somthing or other with an exo and on 44's pulls out of their camp and gets about 2/3's the way thru a donut...

And flops. :D

I really don't see why not. The trail is wide and there will be many others in you same exact shoes. Take it easy and safe like you usually do and you should be fine.

Cal/Paul S can correct me if I am wrong, but last year it was done by 12 rigs in 6 hours with guys open in the front. Guys on 37s can do it in less than 10 minutes. I ran it a month ago and other than a section with some small loose boulders, you should be fine.

I'm a bit late seeing this thread.

Having tailgunned Claw last year with several rear locker only cars, I gotta say that there's a HUGE difference in how difficult this trail is when not locked up front. I would not recommend doing it without F&R lockers.

Yeah, I just figured Cracker had volunteered to lead Clawhammer on Sat. He's a great trail leader. :looser:

You are assuming my junk will be running. Will you be joinging me with the Yellow XJ?

I would have to do a bump stop check before the run starts :D

Well, I don't know whether I can get the buggy finished or not. I'll have to decide by this coming weekend, so I have time to get the yellow one ready. It needs some TLC before it's ready to go. I really don't want to take it and beat it up some more now that the buggy is almost ready to go, so I'll really try to get the buggy ready.

Do I really need lights? A winch? Tow points? How about duct tape plating? :)

Stick to the running gear Richard. If it won't get you on the trail, don't mess with it...

Bring the rest of the stuff out with you. I've done it twice now. :D

I didn't think of reflector tape, that's a good idea. I haven't found the taillights that I want yet.

I think I can get the winch installed, but won't have any shackle mounts front or rear. I guess a strap can be put around the tubing if needed. The dash is in and wired, but I won't have time for the aluminum to cover the top, so I might just duct tape across it. I may or may not have the CB hooked up.

What I will have is a skinny assed rig with 60's front and rear. :D

See Richard,

I'm in the same boat :D

Doesn't sound like you're missing anything critical, other than the winch. You could get by without lights & tow points.

I have plenty left to do.......really, a very long list. All the rear axle mounts and links are still just tacked on, and the UCA mount needs gusseting. The fuel and brakes need to be plumbed. The rockers need to get plated. Winch fairlead needs a mount and so does the solenoid pack, and the winch leads aren't long enough to reach the battery. The power steering pump has to be replaced with the PSC unit I got with a smaller pulley, and the cooler installed. Since I need to get a different serpentine belt, I have to remove the AC compressor while I'm at it. I also need to build a t-case skid, run air locker lines, make seat belt tabs, install seats, belts, CB, something on the roof, etc, etc, etc.

Since I worked a deal with Eric to help do the wiring, it looks like I'll have a few lights. Do most buggies have rear running lights and brake lights?
