Rockin' XJ Jamboree Nov 18-19, information

I have plenty left to do.......really, a very long list. All the rear axle mounts and links are still just tacked on, and the UCA mount needs gusseting. The fuel and brakes need to be plumbed. The rockers need to get plated. Winch fairlead needs a mount and so does the solenoid pack, and the winch leads aren't long enough to reach the battery. The power steering pump has to be replaced with the PSC unit I got with a smaller pulley, and the cooler installed. Since I need to get a different serpentine belt, I have to remove the AC compressor while I'm at it. I also need to build a t-case skid, run air locker lines, make seat belt tabs, install seats, belts, CB, something on the roof, etc, etc, etc.

Since I worked a deal with Eric to help do the wiring, it looks like I'll have a few lights. Do most buggies have rear running lights and brake lights?

I have a rear rock light that shines at the rear diff. I really like it back there
since I can see the diff. Most buggies don't have rear lights. Mine are just there for looks. Don't want to give away when your using the brakes. Plus
it looks bad in pics to have the lights on :D

What Dave said.
I actually just unwired my rear lights, mostly to eliminate the fat harness, but also cause I didn't see any reason to have them.
Think I lost over 1 lb worth of wires:)

Hmmmm, I guess I'll quit trying to find a cool set of red and amber LED lights. I was figuring an amber running light like the desert race guys (though much smaller) for seeing in the dust and a brake light.

OK, no tail lights. I will have a rear facing white light, so I can see the rear diff and what's behind me.

Oh, and I have to run some kind of exhaust.........

Is JV an ORV park? If so, I believe we are required to have at least one tail light (red) after dark....as though any of us have seen any rangers out there after dark....:D

I left 4 wires running to the back. Stop, Tail, Fuel power, fuel level. grounds are short wires to the cage. 1 tail light. Easily lost 15 lbs between all the wires and keeping 1 light. Its easy.. and a safe thing to have.

well I asked once but guess I will ask again, as it may have been overlooked..

Can I still buy a raffle ticket? and what about Fooood.. :D

Since I will be leaving friday after work. Will there be a camp started by like 3-4ish?? I dont want to roll in and have to relocate IF I even find ya all later cause I am not even close to the 'camp'..

Robert, raffle tickets can be bought up to the raffle and the food tickets can as well. Please PM Goat and let him know how many he can count on. He is having trouble trying to figure out how much food to bring since this event has potential to be VERY large.

There will be a camp already in place when you arrive and you won't be able to miss us. You know my truck so you will see it out there. I will bring your cooler as well.

PM me I need you to pick up me a Spicer 1310 before you come.

Of course the TJ is invited. This is not an official NAXJA event but will be mostly XJs.

Any non XJ must provide one case of Corona as pennence for thier sins!!
They will need to place them along with one burning candle in front of my motorhome prior to running any trails!!
As a side note here...any rig not identifiable as a XJ must provide proper documentation/proof that it once was a Cherokee..... :D
They also will not be allowed to run with the real Cherokees..they must wheel together on trails unsuitable for real XJs.
I HAVE SPOKEN!! :soapbox:

I will bring a case of Miller Lite for all to share for my slip in judgement. I will be in the lifted pop up. Swing by if ya'll please to.

It will cost you TWO cases of Corona (Or Guiness Piss) for even knowing someone who owns a YJ.

I second this with the add of a case of REAL BEER - MGJ, to those that have TJ's also..

Does anyone remember what 2meter ham frequency worked out there? I remember that only one in the area was actually reachable from the lake bed.

I did label the tail light wire under the dash, incase I go somewhere that I might need it. It would take a 5 minutes to rewire it.

On a related note, looks like it will be a moonless weekend, hope you have at least some headlights Richard.
