Hey Jesse;

I'll ask a friend this week who lives in the area. I've been out south of Ridgecrest once, off the Garlock Rd. There are some cruising trails near Burro Schmidt's tunnel in the El Pasos. Of course, on the north side of Ridgecrest into Panamint valley there is lots of stuff including rougher stuff like Isham canyon.

By the way, the 8.25 axle is working out fine. Still haven't gotten around to putting in parking brake cables yet. Need to do that on the next trip out.

Sounds great all the info I can get the better! And I'm glad that the axel is working out for you!

Kinda tough if you don't know where stuff is.

Panamint Valley has some good trails, Isham Canyon, Stone Canyon, and some fun routes like Goler Wash and Pleasant Canyon. Over in Red Rock by Hwy 14 is Nightmare Gulch, but it's only open until the end of Jan and then closed till June, and Last Chance Canyon. Closer to Ridgecrest are a number of trails with varying difficulty but you have to know where they are or go with someone who knows where they are. The stuff closer to Ridgecrest is mostly tighter canyons with body damage very likely, trails called Schizo, URF, Punisher, Lost and Found, Snake Bait, etc.

I will be out there january 28,29,30, and I'm sure it will be hard to find trails with out ever being to them before,......anyone want to come?

If you want to go out as far as Panamint Valley (45 minutes past Ridgecrest), I can give you easy directions to get to a number of trails. Decent primitive camping as well.
