Jes

Damn Jes.. where the fawk do you sit? :D

I printed out Jes's entire list.....
I think I'll try to duplicate it as much as possible...
Although I bring along a small floor jack rather then the stock Jeep jack...
along with over 50' of tow rope....

I bring much of the same stuff as Jes, but I also bring a cordless drill with extra battery packs. Came in very handy last time out on the Rubicon.

Okay, first of all I'm not a WCGIC guy like Jes, so I don't need to have enough spare parts on to build a new XJ, after all, we all know that I just wheel in mall parking lots.

I tend to carry the following:

Hi-Lift
20' strap
30' chain for Hi-Lift winch kit
ALL my tools (too lazy to seperate them out)
Emergency kit: First Aid, Spare water, Emergency blanket, food (MRE's)
Shovel and Hatchet
Paper towels
Thick plastic trash bags
Two mag lights (3 D cell)
Sometimes a huge spot light
800W inverter (hard wired)
Fluids (oil, trans/TC, gear, coolant)
Spare wire, duct tape, vacuum line, hose repair tape

When I'm going someplace extra far from home (such as Moab) or am otherwise feeling nervious I'll add this to the mix:

Power drill (runs off the inverter)
Dremil
Spare front shafts
Spare rear shafts
Spare U-Joints all around

Sequoia

my typical day run load contains:

1/2" impact, air hose & sockets
1 qt. each of oil, trans fluid, gear oil, power steering fluid
1 gal. antifreeze
WD40, brake cleaner
paper towels
TP
trash bags
spare front axle shafts
axle u-joint
driveshaft u-joint
yoke strap kit
hand tools (ratchets, combination wrenches, pliers, sledge, deadblow, etc.)
assorted shackles
snatch strap
first aid kit
tie rod
air line for ARB
1/2" torque wrench
long pry bar
spare tire
hi-lift
2.5 gal. water jug
cooler with beer, gatorade, soda & lunch
snack food (chips, etc.)
hand held CB
heavy gloves
mechanix gloves
and most importantly.... the key for my locking lug nuts :D :D (BTDT.... don't need to go again!)

everything except the cooler and water jug fits behind the back seat :)

3 ujoints, 2 axle and 1 ds.
3 gallons gas.
2 gallons water.
1 gallon coolant.
1 quart each oil, dif, trans.
Serp belt.
Full set built axle shafts for D30.(Dutchman rear)
Hi-Lift, spare, lugwrench, xtra lugs.
Brake lines and fluid.
84 pc. socket set with extra deep wells.
36 mm socket and breaker bar.
30k lbs. strap and 3 Warn shackles.
400w inverter.
Pickle Fork.
A few spark plugs.
Chiltons manual.
Portable CB, GPS, First aid kit, Fire extinguisher.
Small vise.
Hose patch stuff.
Toilet paper and small bags.
Granola and Gatorade.

If none of the above is available, I just follow Beezil, cause he is loaded for bear.
Hasta.

Instead of extra battery packs I took a bad 14.4V battery, removed all the individual batteries, and soldered on 15' of 10 gauge wire w/ large alligator clips on the other end. Viola, all my 14.4V rechargable tools now run directly off my battery.

Water and anti-freeze?
Inverter and air-tools?
Paper towels and TP?
All the misc. oils and fluids? (whatever happened to just a few quarts of 50w?)
I gotta say I am enjoying this one!!
Rick

I bring
6 gallons water for the jeep
1 gallon per person riding along
genral sockets ratchets and wrenches
battery jumper
spare tire
spare steering tierod draglink
6 quarts oil
6 quarts tranny fluid
1 quart brake fluid
1 quart power steering fluid
assorted munchies such as chips
5 collapsible chairs to wait on the trail when people break in front
hi-lift
and I am sure other things that I cant remember
things I dont bring
BEER CAUSE IT MAKES YOU DO STUPID THINGS.

i like to carry as much as possible..

most guys think i am nuts until they ask me for a part....then they get the trail prices.....haha

most important think i bring with is the map!

i also would add a pocket full of cash to the list because i never seem to break a part i have with so then i buy 2 and have to find a place to jam it in the rig because i dont have a trailer yet...

p.s. lets see those TJ"s and YJ"s fit all that crap in there rig... :moon:
