Rausch Creek Trail Cutting March 28th...

Simon..what did I miss up there?? what happened:callme:

Yeah, I hope you do better than I did. Sitting at the top of the hill like that was less than fun!

Made it home...

Things I learned:
* I need to find a way to make it to NACfest (no guarantees though)
* always bring a chainsaw no matter how many people you think are going to bring one
* a hammock in 40 mile an hour winds is not a suitable sleeping arrangement unless you LIKE waking up looking sideways down at the ground
* jeep electrical problems can be fixed with chapstick or cigarette lighters
* I really need to remember to bring food/water next time
* I need to leave early enough in the day that I can make it to that truck junkyard on I-78 - anyone know when they close on Saturdays? It looks like their site is down as of 2007, address is 40 Reppert Rd Bethel PA though, accessible from exit 16.
* that yellow "bomb case" suitcase I use is waterproof enough to keep its contents dry after a 5 hour drive through fog and heavy rain

Simon..what did I miss up there?? what happened:callme:

You didn't miss that much. I tried a really long hill climb and took a bad line at the very top. I couldn't make it up over the lip at the top and had to get strapped up. There wasn't much room at the top so it was hard to get a good tug angle. It was pretty nerve racking sitting at the top of a big old hill hoping my brakes would hold, hoping I wouldn't flip over, and hoping I wouldn't piss my shorts.

I learned a few things though. Now I need to get revenge on the Gauntlet AND that hill climb. The list is growing.

For anyone wondering, my rig gave me no more problems after Ken tweaked a couple of the contacts in that bulkhead (or is is it "banghead"?) connector - ran fine all the way home, even with a stop for dinner by Cabela's along the way.

Tonight's commute features a stop at Radio Shack/Autozone (within a block of each other) to pick up contact cleaner and an appropriate anti-oxidation treatment so I can clean all that nasty old anti-ox out and retreat. Will give the rest of the contacts a little bend while I'm in there too, just to make sure all is touching properly.

You know, I'm really hoping that this makes for "three" (Brake lines at RocktoberFest, gas tank in January, bulkhead connector) so I can have a smooth outing next time...

I have pics too, was too tired last night to bother with posting them. Coming soon, though!

He'll yea this was a fun day thanks for the good time and the laughs hope to do it again soon

Couple bad pics of MrSimon on the hill.
They do no justice for the hill....

Had an awesome time, ready to cut some blue/black trails!

I was in a 20 degree mummy bag (it was ~mid 30s to low 40s)... I was only very mildly uncomfortable from the temperature. Waking up swinging wildly back and forth and then listening to a 2-stroke generator in the next campsite over kick in for 15 minutes every half hour was not conducive to sleeping well though :smsoap:

Good times, good times! I needed the weekend out in the "hills"....sorry about the scary pulls, Jordan, I woulda been rolling down with ya! As always, a great time with the NAC crew, and the new property looks like it has a whole lot of potential. I'm happy to have been able to help out.

had an awesome time and high jacking jordans rig was fun too

Just happened to see Rock2pus's photo album on facebook... did a double take when I saw a pic of Jordan's MJ on the trail, suddenly wondered if DITA managed to get ahold of my keys
