Rausch Creek - July 10th (Blacks/Reds)

Re: Rausch Creek - July 10,11 (Blacks/Reds)

ill go as long as i get a few more things done this week...

Re: Rausch Creek - July 10,11 (Blacks/Reds)

Slight change of plans, we aren't going away anymore for the 4th...

I may be able to make it there on Saturday the 11th. I'll probably be in the MJ, but it is almost as capable as the XJ, so no worries there.

Mopar and Reelbigdundy... are you guys driving your stuff down this time?

Just saw the threads above.... looks like your both driving down, good deal.

A.

Re: Rausch Creek - July 10,11 (Blacks/Reds)

Turns out Adam and I will be attending the All-Chrysler Nationals Saturday day (11th).

We will still be out there that Friday though (10th).

Re: Rausch Creek - July 10,11 (Blacks/Reds)

How far is Carlisle from where you guys are going? I usually go to the All-Chrysler Nationals every year with my Intrepid club but was going to back out because my car isn't ready. Now that I bought my new Jeep, I may be driving that down with them. It would be cool to meet some of you guys and check out some other XJs, even though mine won't be leaving the pavement.

Re: Rausch Creek - July 10,11 (Blacks/Reds)

Rausch Creek is about an hour from Carlisle.

Definitely come over during the show if you want to hang out. Adam and I will be registered under the Young Guns (just to park next to my family lol).

Also, we're probably going to be doing the rock garden that Rausch Creek sets up during the show on Saturday.

Adam and I ended up going to RC and ran rock creek, boot hill, and some others for the day. Debated running otters, but I remember you said hydro assist comes in handy, and Adam had bent another TRE so we didn't push our luck.

Adam's drop brackets lost a couple self tappers on the braces so he didn't want to chance taking his rig over the concrete at Carlisle, but I took my rig up there and played around. Met a couple of the guys up there, including Bruce who said he lived like a stones throw from you Andy??? I didn't realize all the history behind RC, was great to talk to him.

I even went down the steep face and ruined my front bumper in the process :roflmao:

Sounds like a good time
Oh and

Sounds good, yeah it was probably a good idea that Adam didn't run Otters with that steering. I was amazed at how easy he bent it/broke it in the Gauntlet the first day. Besides the fact that you guys had to drive your junk home afterwards.

Yes, I have known Bruce for quite a few years now. He does live right around the corner from me. There is a lot of history there, and Bruce is the main reason RC exists today.

I'll see if I can't track them down...

I must say, you really are terrible at pictures.

I still don't believe you that that flat top knuckle cracked in half. I never saw proof, and the knuckle was promptly disposed of, destroying all evidence. A little too convenient I would say. Usually normal people would keep such a think a trophy, or display piece.

LOL I have an incredibly crappy digital camera. I keep telling myself I need to buy one, but that probably won't happen until I graduate.

Yeah I probably should have kept that knuckle, but I was more pissed off at myself for breaking it that I didn't want it around. I would have kept it if I had broken it while wheeling :D

So here's a couple pics of where we were in the show. My bro's '74 Roadrunner clone next to Adam and I, and a frame-off resto CJ with a 5.0 dropped in it.

Little bit of a pitstop on the way down. Rick's torque converter bolts loosened up causing a chattering noise.

Bent another WJ end. Same end as the one I broke during NACFest. Time for a GM 3/4 ton drag link.

I wasn't very nice to my fender. Another casualty on Rock Creek.

Our pose at Carlisle. Most everyone there was wondering if Colin's Jeep was supposed to be doing that.

And finally I Dented my oil pan on Rock Creek.
