Re: where have all the good cherokees fs gone

One issue with CARC, it's a pain to clean. Dirt and oily finger prints never come off.

Thats pretty much true with any flat/matte paint though.

I traded my wheels for trents km2s this morning and i like the ravines a lot more than i thought i would! The tires ride really good and look great, im happy i ended up with them.

looks great -- stick with the rescue green, though, I absolutely love it. I'm seriously thinking the WJ and the MJ trailer may get that shade when I finally have the time and funds to prep them...

Re: where have all the good cherokees fs gone

I've seen other threads posted about the 'glass fenders and "poor" fit. I've never seen a post here or on other threads for Toyotas and Fords where the poster said "the fit was good". I guess this just always makes me roll my eyes because these fenders are made for race application, not for show rigs. I was skeptical when Seth posted that he wanted to use 'em..... But if anyone can make them work and look good he can

I've also wondered if those front fenders catch a lot of air going down the highway..... Seems like there would be high potential for lots of turbulence inside the rear of the fender. I cut out the inner material of my front Bushwhackers for tire clearance and they catch a lot of air.

Oh and add me to the "keep the rescue green" list.

I drove with the one fender all the way up to berthoud and back today lol i didnt really notice any extra wind noise that the jeep didnt have before or anything weird, and the fenders are stout enough im not worried about it damaging them.

I read up a lot on the differend kinds of glass fenders that i pretty much knew what i was getting myself into, i just wasnt expecting it to be quite as bad as it initially was. Im confident that with more time and patience i can get a decent fit to them. And im glad everyone likes the rescue green so much, makes me think about maybe keeping it that color after round two of bodywork/mods are done.

P.S. My name turned red today! Ive lurked around here enough over the years and have been posting and reading naxja more then ever lately. Ever since i moved to colorado and started being part of the co chapter i have gotten to know some of the people on here. Ive bought and sold many parts and jeeps over the years, have gotten plenty of help and criticism (both good and bad) and i feel like its time to start giving a little back to the club and getting a little more involved. The colorado chapter feels like a brotherhood where everyone is more than willing to do anything they can to help out other members when they need it. Im glad to be a NAXJA member finally!

I am also on the Keep it Rescue Green list, its such a fantastic color.

So once I get my Frontier you're going to come up here and massage my fenders and bedsides into pretty pretty pieces right? :D

I won't have any one "magic" trick to trim or reshape your fenders but I could definitely lend a hand and give you any tips I have

Oh I'll be hitting you up for sure. Bodywork and I just do not get along. I have neither the patience or aptitude for it.

Re: where have all the good cherokees fs gone

Just picked up a set of these T&T high clearance inner fenders to put on sometime this winter.

I was also thinking of getting a set. I know it would be easy enough to just make them, but I'm lazy.

I agree with dutch, would be easy to fab up, but for the price you may as well just order them. I was really debating getting some of those, t&j's upper shock conversion kit, and front frame rail stiffeners then welding it all up at once and have the front done. But i have decided to stick with 33s on my jeep so i dont think the t&t inner fenders will really be necessary with my plans for the jeep.

I know its not anything exciting, and i havent gotten anything new done to the jeep, but i got off work a couple hours early yesterday and washed it for the first time in like 4 months lol. Im really startin to like the fender the more i look at it, gonna try and get the other one and my other drivers door mounted on saturday if i dont have to work.

If all you're going to do is take it out and beat the hell out if it why do you need a super nice, low mileage one?

I think his discouragement with finding a TJ is the cost. They're way expensive compared to an XJ. That's part of why I did a YJ, they're a little bit cheaper but are still fuel injected.

Re: where have all the good cherokees fs gone

Should have not sold your jeep. Lol.

I don't regret it one bit selling mine

Because i want a nice looking jeep. With low miles so it will last longer then my other one did. and im not beating the shit out of mine. I wheeled my old one hard but never beat it up. Body was still in great shape and looked great!!!!

What about the TJ I heard about?

Sold it the next day. So there went that
