Probably should do this

So how do you get a bolt

^like this off something like this \/

When you have no vice grips or bench clamp??
You ghetto rig one lmao
menujanu.jpg

Basically it's secured under the hitch and jack lmao plus me sitting on it helps to keep it secured lol
Just thought I'd share lol

FRICKIN INGENIOUS!
Thats some ghetto Mcguyver sh_it right there!

I live in an apartment and all my actual tools and stuff that I had gotten from my dad is over at my moms house in the rv shed so I'm limited at what I can do, so I've kinda learned how to become an master ghetto rigger lol right now what's keeping rtv sealant from sticking to the carpet after I sealed the hole in the floor is a piece from a plastic trash bag. Keeps it covered and sealed while not letting it stick to the carpet lol

Well I'm trying to fix the leak in my passenger side and its worse than I thought, not major but worse than what I was hoping for

It's pretty soaked, trying to dry it the best before I seal the plug. Since there is surface rust what should I do? Just grind or sand down to bare and then hit it with a rust protector or something else? Trying to stop it before it gets worse

I just patched mine a few weeks ago. The worst section was right over the muffler about 14" x 14". I gut all the rust out, primer, paint. 18G galvanized sheet metal patch with sealer. Next will be a heat shield between the muffler & floor board.

Good news is that's surface rust as I can tell so ill sand it then spray it. Just curious if I should use rust blocker or rubber over spray?

Bad news, still after sealing up the hole, there is water still getting in some how? And it's bad. I can't figure out where it's coming from?!?!? The only explanation I have is that I notice when I have the defroster on I can hear water trickling on that side? Now I've been trying to find the source but I'm freakin clueless????
Anyone have a suggestion?

Ok both my 89 & 93 leaked. 89 was from the heater core. I figured it out by blocking the heater hoses so water didn't get into the core, no more leak. My 93 was leaking somewhere from the windshield. So I sealed it with urethane. Sealed it between the trim & body, then trim & glass. So far so good.

heater core is that black roundish thing on the passenger side right? because on the inside I noticed water was coming from some black thing sticking out underneath the glove compartment

Heater core is inside it, it looks kinda like a mini radiator. The engine hot water flows through it, a fan on the back side pushes the hot air through the ducting keep you nice & tostie. Mine leaked where the copper hose fitting went into the body of the core. But like I said easy to figure out. You just have to go with out a heater for a day or 2.

Ya it's the heater core or seal, didnt run the heater and there hasn't been a drop of water :/ eh I guess I'll just wear extra clothes till I get time to fix it lol

In others news, I installed a pair of v8 zj coils on the front, wow!!! I got half an inch....... Lol measured from the center of wheel to fender and I was at 18" now I'm at 18.5" and the coils were g code which were the ones that truly gave an 1.5" so I'm a little stump, can the base model jeep get a up country package? Reason for asking is because I kept reading that the base height from the tire to fender is 17" but mines at 18"(now 18.5") front and 18.5 rear.
Either way it looks like I need spacers for the front since the coils didnt work lol

Ya I am, just sucks that I couldn't get it a little higher lol this Friday when I get my paycheck will be when I buy some toys to bring with me.

Well I'm a little closer to getting this off the ground and doing better.got this container at Wally World for $17 something which I thought was a great deal

Also picked this up for $40

There was three of them, one from a 00' Cherokee, another from a 98' grand Cherokee and this one from a 02' grand Cherokee, as far as looking at them, they are all the same right? Lol just got to double check.
Question though, a tb from a 00' Cherokee, is it the same as tb from a 97' Cherokee? Reason being is there is one there and I can get it for cheap but I don't know if they are the same or if the newer ones changed? I want to get one and bore it to 60mm or 62mm

Swapped out my bent tie rod to a zj v8 tie rod, holy damn are they heavy and big!!!! Swap went fairly smooth till it came to bolting up the side to the drag link, pretense; when I was taking the zj tie rod off at the jy I left the nut that was on it there thinking that I'd just use the one off mine. Fast forward, the bolt on the side connecting the tie rod to the drag link had a few threads messed up and none of the nuts would thread on :/ so after an hour fiddling, bending some clamps, cursing, more cursing, the idea popped into my head: tap and die!! So I started rummaging around and found my dads old set! Took a look, matched it to 1/2 national fine thread. Starting running it over the bolt, woo it works!!! Starting realigning or re grooving the threads, kept turning back and forth. Wiped it clean and put the nut on, moment of truth!!! Started turning it, praying I wouldn't get any resistance. Woo hoo!! It went on!!!! Threaded in easily. After that it went smoothly,
Nothing's fun to read without pics right?

Would have more pics but after an hour trying to figure out how to fix the bolt without having to buy a new one or getting another used one from a jy I quit lol
Moral of the story? This is now called the Murphy's chero(Murphy's law)
And that a tap and die set would actually be a good thing to have if need be to re thread a bolt or something

FYI I wouldn't run that intake manifold unless you have the head that goes with it. Jp magazine did a test upgrading to the late model manifold and actually lost hp. The later motors that match that head are tuned differently.

Ill look into that, as far as I've read, you'll lose hp but gain lower end torque. Which would fit me more since I rarely hit red line a lot.

Sweet baby Jesus!!!!! Today was my lucky day!!!!! Got a awesome deal and find on some items I got at the junk yard.
When in to get a steering box because mines been crappy since the hangover run(recovery run) well I knew there was a full size Cherokee there that I saw before and I had learned that they have the same steering box as the yj(fixed ratio, 3.1) so I unbolt that and keep looking, down the isle someone had taken the v8 out of a grand Cherokee, I look and see the alternator! 136a here I come lol only had to take one bolt off to get, by now I'm thinking I'm good so I go back to pay for them, pay $50 because the box is supposedly $75 but sold it for $40. Placed my goodies in the back of my jeep and decide to keep wandering around since I only know of the Cherokee section of the yard lol so i go up one isle then down the other, but knowing myself I can't help but go back to the Cherokee section lol start wandering over and I see this white 4door jeep and I notice it has the same front fender side as mine(97')(97'+ lower section has been cut off and a plastic bumper piece in place) so I go to it thinking maybe its the same year. Look in slide and guess what I see??? A full panel cluster gauge!!! No dummy lights but actual working tachs!!! Oh sweet Jesus! So I run back and get my tools and run back over, started dismantling it and got the cluster popped out, at this point I can't think how else this day could get better but damn I was wrong, now with the cluster clutched in my arm I decided to look at the rest of the jeep. Back seat has a "the clash" which I almost felt obligated to torch lol but as I was looking back I saw what appeared to be a gas tank skid............ Holy crap!!!!! So I open the back hatch and there it was a metal gas tank skid plate(I had already realized at this point that the junk yard takes the stuff under the vehicle and places it in the trunk or so I'm guessing) so there I was thinking that someone had taken a zj skid and put it on this Cherokee, so I take it out and do a once over. Freakin almost brand new!!! As I was carrying it to the front of the jeep I noticed a badly misshaped metal thing on the front which looked to be another skid??? That's when the light went off in my head and realized that this jeep had the up country packageAnd I have in my hand a up country gas tank skid!!! Took it to the course and asked how much, the guy takes a quick glance at the cluster and skid and say $40.........?!?!
All in all I just got some awesome heavy duty stuff for cheap.
Pics to come!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol, a good day indeed.

Say good bye to dummy lights
rutudama.jpg

And say hello to full on gauge cluster!!! Lol
egagetu3.jpg

Sure excited now being able to see exactly what's going on but on the other hand now I'm a little worried lol
On the oil pressure gauge, what is the typical numbers for oil pressure when at idle and when driving?
I noticed when driving it stays at 40
hu4uhype.jpg

And when at idle it goes down to this
runebumu.jpg

Does this mean I have bad compression or something?
