Poison Spider Mesa 10-10-13

It was raining when I rolled out of the tent and I knew that we were in for an interesting day on the trail.

Been a while since I've seen this much standing water on PSM........

Forecast called for rain in the valley and snow in the mtns. The LaSal Range hosts Mt Peale, at 12,720 ft, making a spectacular backdrop to the slickrock fins.

We arrived at Little Arch and stretched our legs a bit, some hiked over the arch and looked off into the Colorado River, others stayed on safer ground and observed.

Not far from Little Arch is a large cave that is fun to explore.

As the day wore on, the clouds broke and provided some great shots across the mesa. Looking NWest towards Golden Spike/Gold Bar Rim.
