NOT a budget buggy build

They are dodge unit bearing. Tera makes them with the 5.5 pattern.

makes for a nice little stub shaft. 33 spline 300M

Dave!

Quick posting porn to a public forum!

How thick is the layer of dust on the XJ, from sitting while you play with the buggy?

No dust.......it's got the car cover on it and then a tarp! :greensmok

Yes, Dodge unit bearngs, Tera makes them 5 on 5.5, and CTM makes a bad ass 300M 33 spline stub.

Um.

Looking closely at that picture it looks like the Buggy got pissed off, knocked somebody over, and is about to run him over.

This thread is 2 years old, but I thought I'd update it with some new pics, as the buggy looks a lot different now with the skins, and bigger tires.

Real stout crossmember/belly skid from Scrappy and Capt Ron at Rigwerks.

Ok, the belly skid looks ok, but I just don't know if I can buy the stout part. :) It looks very similar to the TNT belly pan and that can bend. I've seen two threads showing that.

Also, just for reference sake, here is the rigwerks skid installed on XJrangers rig:

Oh yeah, what's the access like for getting to the drivetrain bolts with the rigwerks crossmember on? It looks like it would be a pain. Same for the TNT belly pan. Jeff

T&T's pan has some access holes. They really arent hard to reach with either a ratchet wrench or a small 1/4 drive ratchet. It just takes practice:)

Jeff, I couldn't actually compare the TnT skid with the Rigwerks, I've never run the TnT. However, from the pics the Rigwerks looks stouter, and it has more and sturdier mounts. Can't say it would never bend, but I've already laid on it hard with no issues. Seems pretty stout to me.

No problem getting to driveline bolts, or shift linkage stuff, don't know about the other stuff, though I'd imagine anything else you'd remove the crossmember anyway.
