For some reason I don't see any rocks in this pic but I'm sure I see a winch line coming out the front. :dunno:

Oh, you've been waiting for months for an opportunity to post that pic. :D :moon:

Yep, I was winching it on the trailer, after getting towed out by some loud mouthed asshat from somehere in Idaho, after my pan connected with a couple of rods, after my cross frame track bar mount brace connected with my pan, after my diff connected with my track bar brace, after my bump stops compressed too much, after I hit a big fawking ditch going too fast, after I told Cracker on the CB to slow down so we didn't break something, after I was pissed at him from being such a lame ass'd trail leader, after I decided to go and get the parts Cory needed myself, after Cracker told us we were at the end of the trail when we were really at the beginning.

Yep, I was winching it onto the trailer. :D

That trip was just a bad nightmare & never actually happened. That pic is solely a manifestation of your old twisted mind. :bawl:

The 609 is starting to come together. Links are built, steering & track bar are all figured out & built, & I'm finishing up fabbing the upper shock mounts & engine cage. I probably have a good days worth of fab left & than it gets all torn back apart for paint.

Are you going full hydro Matt?

Paul

No, the steering will be Hyd. assist. My box is already tapped for it & I didn't want to add on to the increasing mountain of $$ that I'm putting into this with a new high end PS pump & orbital.

Matt,
I'm not sure whats happening on Sat. I'm starting some Merlot tomorrow night & I don't know what's going to be happening over the weekend... I'll give you a call Friday or so. Thanks

Matt

Great job Richard. I don't post much around here, but being an XJ guy I do like to lurk and see what you guys are up to. I wish we had the type of terrain and weather you guys do so I could build something similar. I can't see the wife riding through the mud and water in an open buggy. Anyways, keep up the good work and keep providing me with ideas. :)

Sometimes I do think we have the best of both worlds. We wheel the desert in the winter, and when it's too hot to go there we wheel the mountians in the summer. And, if we want to we can drive to the dunes or go to the mountians in winter for a snow run.

Not bad...... :)

Well, I'm hoping maybe some day I can plan a trip to hook up with some of you fine folks at one of the many events you guys hold. It will be a long haul from Edmonton, but I HAVE to try and plan something to check out some real rocks. Anyways, back to the tech...

How about some pics and description of what you did in another thread? :) Jeff

Well, my wife had surgery on her broken leg today, over a dozen screws and a plate, so not much time to work on the buggy this week. Here's a couple of pics of what I did get done. Finished all the roof bars, added the remaining rocker bars, and now I'm working on the cowl and dash.

Hope the wife gets better soon. The buggy looks good. JIM.

you shoulda just fabbed up something for her leg to let her know you really love her.

Ha! :)

Yeah, maybe a motorized wheel chair with 33's. :D

I don't think so.......as much as I'd like to. I'm off Nov 4th, and could make a day run if I was ready, but I work the 11th.

We'll just have to see how it goes. I figured I'd use the time when Kathy was in London (the next two weeks) to really crank out the work, but now she's not going and I'm taking care of her and everything else around the house. Now I'm having to really focus on the stuff that has to be finished, so we'll see what shape it's in.

Do I really need to plate the rocker panels?? :)
