New rig.

So I decided that my d30 wont be done in time for sierra fest. So I'm gonna rock something simple. Auto locker and stock shafts with plenty of spares for up front.
And either run my 8.8 or 29 spline 8.25 in the rear. Probably run the 8.25 with a lockrite or something easy and quick.
 
yep do that. it'll be fine. actually you'll be fine if you got 35s if you're open open. a tj on 35s and a 2"BB followed us into the con a few fridays ago...

just get the rig out there. you don't even need lockers for SR or DV if you're on a decent lift and 35s.
just stop making BS excuses and wheel your junk. No one cares if your Diffs aren't packing ....lockers and gears...
 
you should wear gloves when grinding and welding chris.

thats what i have been saying!! we are trying to get it running right at this point
 
Jon its not running exactly right. I have to pull my pushrods and measure them. Might have to order shorter ones. I milled the head and used a shorter headgasket. The problem is, I dont know if the head was ever milled before. I removed .016 from my quench and when assembled it has a gnarley misfire that isnt cylinder specific. Plugs, Wires cap and rotor are new, all injectors are new.

hmm. misfire. is the dizzy on right?

did you f up any wiring when you pulled the head?

CPS and TPS are all good?

good o2 sensor?

proper firing order?- no criss crossed plug wires?

good grounds?

how is the coil?

idle air control valve? vaccum leaks?

just for fun how is spark/timing/vacuum/fuel pressure?
 
All good. Multiple times haha. Fuel pressure is good. Tps tests good. Map tested good. Grounds all test good. Dizzy is in right. Wires are correct. Each injector harness tests good with a noid light.
I need to check lifter preload, but don't have a dial indicator. I need a new one too so I can set my gears. I'm also in the process of changing jobs. I'm stuck in the middle of some political drama, so I'm leaving my company. Had a lot of solid leads and interviews, just haven't taken any offers yet. Depending how that goes I might miss Sierrafest due to new employment.

With the MP gasket and the head milled, probably best to use shorter pushrods.

Im the equipment manager/ mechanic for a large berry growing company. Unfortunetly with the size of our company brings lots of politics and with that people will throw you under the bus for their benifit. I delt with that and decided I am not going to deal with that **** and will potentially take a pay cut working somewhere else just to get away from it.
 
damn. so how do you have a full shop to your disposal ?
