new rig (Black Betty)

Looks like the coils that are on the new rig are 150lb springs. When I ran the re 5.5 coils they were 180lbs and still seemed a little soft.

I am thinking 200 or 220 lbs springs. They should help the rear leafs work more too.

rig will seem more stable on the road and handle better.

I am leaning towards trying out a set of these, maybe the 220 in the 4" or the 6".

I have the re 3.5". Supposedly 240lbs. Ill be looking at the pac 250 4" springs soon. It is very stable on the road. I run without a stabilizer and swaybar front or rear. Rides like a caddy on the highway. It handles great on the road and off. Stiffer rates up front will definitely make the rear work more.

I think I will go with the 6" 200lb springs sooner than later.

I will also be ordering some bilstein 7100s
255/70 front
255/100 rear unless they can't get the customs valving out in a few weeks. If not I'll get the standard 255/70 and revalve later

Nice!

Did you go direct, or through a supplier? Poly performance usually has good deals on parts.

I learned a good lesson today. Whipped up a trac bar real quick then realized the old bounce the front and it is close to center trick doesn't work or at least in this case.

At least i made it to long and another cut and a new bung in the mail and it will be fixed soon

Slapped on the coil spacers from Lou and it sits just right. Thanks again Lou.

Bolted up the front drivers side shock! Slow progress is still progress.... I plan to get this all done if very short order for the June Rubicon run

So I have the jks adapters up top and the spacers I got with the shocks don't fill the space. What do you guys do with 7100s or fox shocks? Do you make wider spacers or let it float in there a little?

Keep the spacers at the joint of the shock and use washers to fill the gap

which JKS adapters did you get?

They make one for rubber bushing shocks and one for rod end shocks, the rod end ones should fit snug.

Call JKS, it may just be a matter of buying the spacers.

so just stacking washers is out of the picture?

I would just make some .

i think if you just stack washers, you run into a risk of not having enough travel in the shock ball.

maybe its a non issue? i dunno.

I did not call to confirm the primary mount is the same, but I can not imagine that it wouldn't be.
