new rig (Black Betty)

Well i had a little time to dial in the welder. Finally figured it out and ran out of gas just as my welds looked nice. Im a slow learner.

Also got the rear bumper pulled. I hope to finish the stiffeners this weekend.

Putting in work man! I am stoked to see this coming along. I don't know how you do it all man, you were wrenching later than me last night!

I love this rig. You should move into the garage and quit your job so you can focus on getting it done and wheeling.

:)

I have had countless wheeling nightmares where I am wheeling straight up a cliff and then roll off the off the mountain head over backwards...

Looks good mang!

Well i ordered a TNT truss yesterday. I just want this rolling again and dont have the time. Besides their stuff look way better than i could ever do.

I am also thinking of what i should do about a rear cross member. I can build on for around $200, i'm guessing or purchase the TNT skid and rear cross member for the double tri rear for $600. i still need to measure to see how it would work.

Not planing to link the rear but the option in the future might be nice.... although i would not want to even think about do a cage and links for a very long time. I have spent enough money on betty for now...

dude that sounds awesome. And you are making some serious progress.

I remember those days. endless cutting of d44 brackets.

I know your pain..
Today ive been cutting away at my 06 Superduty 60.. Probably twice as much crap as any other axle to cut off..

Start with something like this..

And take it to this

Plasma torch

Dang those brackets are huge. Mine weren't to bad at all. Sawzall took care of the coil and track bar brackets in seconds. Wedges took some time. I cut them down and broke them open with a wedge and 3lb mini sledge.

But you guys know its the grinding that sucks. Haha
