Need one for the 87 comanche, assuming a XJ ring will fit too. If anyone is coming to the party and can bring one, i'll be sure to have a cold beer waiting.

The ones from the dealer are not that much and the design is greatly improved making them easier to use and they work much better.

The NAPA Part number is Lo01 and it costs $4.49. They have one in stock in the warehouse in fontana, your local store should be able to get it no problem. comes with a new o ring as well.

Thicker, better most likely. I pulled one from a yard to replace my old think crappy 1989 ring and it was substantially better, enough so that it would survive multiple installations/removals (can't say that for the original one). The one Mike shows looks equal to the original and would survive one or two installations before getting bent up.

PS - Just looked at hte 87 - 90 parts fiche, as expected it lists the same part number for MJ and XJ.
