Need a good spot for a weekend to 3 day trip. Too hot to go back to death valley

Lookin for somewhere away from the crowds and off the beaten path to go wheel in and camping for a good weekend to 3 day getaway. Ive been dying to go bavk to death valley but Wanna get away from the desert for awhile I've been thinking big bear area since it's only a few hour drive any recommendations are appreciated thanks!

There are some nice secluded camp spots in Holcomb valley out in big bear. Good spot to have base camp and cruise out and do a couple trails and still be back by lunch or dinner
