NAXJA takes over PMP

I have set us up to be able to utilize the W.E. Rock venue at Pima Motorsports Park. This would be a NAXJA sanctioned event that allows our members plus one guest to run their rigs on the W.E. Rock course. This is in the preliminary planning phase but we first need to gauge interest. If you would attend this event please post up and how much money you would be willing to spend. The one kicker to this whole deal is that it costs $800 to rent the course for us.

We do not want to use all of the club funds to host this event but we would be willing to if the members vote that it is worth it. John and I spoke and both agreed that we each would be willing to pay upwards on $50 to be able to go play on a competition rock crawling course but we want to see what the other members think.

If you haven't seen the course I will post up pictures of it later if I can figure out how to get them off of my phone. But also check out some of the video's from previous W.E. Rock events on youtube to get an idea.

Hmmm... So you're saying if 16 people cough up 100 dollars. I can wheel the PMP grounds as much as I want for 2 days!? That sounds like a deal to me. I'm in definitely.

FYI folks this would be a sanctioned NAXJA run all rules apply without exception.

I am totally down for this I really would like to see this be a 2day event if we could set up camp.

On another note. Have we thought about maybe doing Tshirts for the event or Catering a meal? I could work out some BBQ for lunch or dinner if people would be intrested. We could do your ticket in plus a Shirt and lunch all for a set price.

We have discussed bringing the T-shirts but we will be cutting it close getting them made. I like this idea of setting a price to attend which will include a shirt and lunch for one/two days.
 
The more I think about it I like the idea. Originally though I immediately thought that the fact of having to pay for it would shy away many especially since most of us are located in the Phoenix area and would have to count that in addition to the entry fee but I love the idea.
 
6 people are willing to pay so far, this seems like it might be feasible, I'll try calling the owner and see about a 2 day event. I'm not against it but since I live 5miles away I don't foresee myself camping out that night.
 
Talked to Mark(the owner), he said that he didn't see a problem with us camping out over night but has to get with his board members to see if they want to charge us an additional fee for it. There would have to be one person in charge that would have to lock the entry gate at 10pm to keep the facility secure. They would leave that person with a key just incase there is an emergency or a reason to leave in the middle of the night. So we are good to go for a two day event.

Either way it would still be out of pocket cost. But given that we will already be paying PMP for use of facilities it would be easier to include a camping price in the fee to attend and probably be less to camp there. I like the 2 day camp there idea. I forsure would not want to drive down for just one day.
 
No campgrounds close by that I can think of. All the ones close by are 55+ communities.
