That's awesome! Low-buck racing is cool.....be great to see the stats and what cars you beat with the grocery-gettin' winged brick.
Cool, though I did make sure Kent 4x4 was represented via Sharpie.

Phew! We did it! Final results haven't been posted yet, but at last count we should finish in the top third of teams. I'm pretty damn pleased; to even finish is an accomplishment, let alone in something as untested (in road racing) as a Cherokee with home built mods.

Yes, we are passing two Camaros in this pic.

This is great! Seems like a great event for sure.
How'd those fawesome XJ brakes hold up pulling you down from triple digits?
They did great! Stock rotors and the pads that came on them. Still looked okay after the race, and some teams went through 4 sets of pads. I can't explain it, except that our rig weighed very little and saved the brakes. Drums even looked good after the race. This is great! Seems like a great event for sure.

Rear shocks are overrated anyways!Harmonic balancer let go on Saturday, had to be towed back in and run into town for parts and a puller. Cost us a couple hours. Rear shock came loose in the final hours, but it was still handling okay, so we just pulled it and I kept racing. One of the bigger issues we had was fuel; it's only the 13.5 gallon tank, which limited up to about 2 hours of racing, and we could only get it so low until it would start sputtering in long sweepers. A 20 gallon tank and revised fuel pick-up is in the works.
It was good the race ended when it did, we were losing power (stock exhaust was working its way loose), and we could increasingly smell gear oil (blown seal on the D35). Tranny was still shifting stong, but there are some things we'd like to do before flogging on it for this long again. We're planning to be at another LeMons race in March, at Sears Point (Infenion Raceway). We've got a couple little things to do, but it worked so well we're hesitant to chance too much.

Thanks for the offer, I'd love the tank, but I'm sure you're right about shipping. We slapped on a tranny cooler the size of my bed before the race, so we're good to go there. If you were any closer, I'd offer to ship you the 20gal 97+ tank I have as a spare :/ I think it'd be cheaper for you to just grab one at the junkyard than it would be for me to ship this one though. Got a tranny cooler or five on it yet? I'll gladly pick up a few of whatever tranny cooler you want (Ford Explorer? Grand Cherokee? both have decent looking stock units) and mail em on over.
Did you check out the teeth on that beaver chasing the XJ?
Mid '90's Honda Civic Hatchback. Their front bumper was a tree trunk.Hahaha, yea is that like an old lexus or something?
