Many of us have talked about this and considered this for some time now

KarlVP said:Well I'll tell you what. If I get an e-mail or PM from the chapter pres, I'll start the process of adopting a small trail at walker valley. All the trails there are in damn good shape, so picking one that needs A lot of work won't be in the cards. Mostly the group will just do small one day maintenance projects.
I'll be at Walker this weekend (20 oct) if any folks want to see what we are getting into.

I like seeing the dialog open back up on this. Perhaps the next BOD will support it, not that we didn't. We were always for it, but you can't always count on your 'volunteers'. :spam:
ECKSJAY said:I'm not taking part in this because I've been burned so much in the past I really don't care anymore. Everything always looks good on paper, so to speak... :looser:

If you've felt this way you should have stepped down and let someone else advance the chapter. Just because you got bored doesn't mean the chapter should suffer a period of inactivity.ECKSJAY said:I thought it was better than saying, "Screw you guys, I'm goin' home." :yelclap:
The following is directly from our bylaws. Article IV, to be exact.ECKSJAY said:I thought it was better than saying, "Screw you guys, I'm goin' home." :yelclap:
KarlVP said:The only thing I need from the BOD is a signature on the paperwork. It would be a one year contract to maintain a trail.
And the NWC doesn't have to provide ANY money. Just the manpower. And maybe some tools and such. (ie tree falls down in the woods across the trail, we need chainsaws. Etc...)
It isn't hard. I can easily do this. All I will do here is post the days of the "work" parties, we can go do the trail maintenance and then wheel for the rest of the day.

Can we count on you for the sig's that we need for the formalities?
I think we all agree that this is something that we want to start sooner rather than later.

You've got additional support right here.ECKSJAY said:I might be asking for additional support from the others, though. Stay tuned for that.
