NAXJA Full Rear Windshield Decal

I went to a sign shop the other day and took our NAXJA sticker logo in to them. I originally just wanted to have a floating Red "NAXJA" and then "North American XJ Association" in the middle of my window, but she said for some reason that isn't possible. So she made me this JPEG up showing what the NAXJA logo would look like taking up my whole back window. It would be $110 for the whole back window done in that see through from the inside but not from the outside. Do you guys think it's worth it? And whether you do or not which design do you think would be the coolest? I hate to change the originality of the NAXJA logo but green/black on my Jeep would be kind of cool I think. Thoughts?

I assume you have contacted the Board of Directors on the use of our logo? Right? :smoker:

Honestly, they all look like ass.....

No, not even that good....

That is some of the WORST photoshop I have ever seen.

I assume they're using that perforated material and are screen printing the image on the material? You can find somone with a vinyl plotter and do what you originally wanted for a 1/4 of that price. and IMO decals look horrible that large.

$110 to put that over glass - all it would take is some rock tossing punk and you're out $110....... I wouldn't do it.

Jeezus Glenn ..... how's this any different than if he was flying his original membership sticker that's issued to him from NAXJA? His version is just bigger. And it's free friggin' advertising.

The only reason this would be a problem would be if he was trying to mass produce them for profit.

Go hug a celebrity..........

:D

I mean, I like NAXJA and all. But not enough to spend $110 to plaster the name all over the back window.

Here's the biggest (and only) sticker on my Jeep.

And w_howey...THIS is the worst Photoshop you've ever seen.

Holy cow man, I'm sorry. I thought as long as I was doing it for personal use it didn't matter. Perish the thought.

Thanks for the input. I agree the chop isn't the best and I don't think I will spend $110 anyway.

Good to know, I'm going to ask around a little, I'm certainly not going to spend $110.

Why screw around? Just get the rig wrapped in that chit.

Now we're talkin'!
Yeah that's an awesome idea. It's the new herculiner.

They are idiots...if they told you that you can't just have the NAXJA on there, I wouldn't use them. I ran a sign/graphics shop for 4 years while in high school and college.

Go somewhere else and tell them you want a vinyl cut decal using "high-performance" (preferably 3M) vinyl. If you don't specify, or if they are like most shops, they will stick the el cheapo stuff (called intermediate) on there and it will begin to shrink in the sun and heat and look like hell.

Another thing, I wouldn't make it that big, I would tell them you want it either 8" or 10" tall and see how long that makes it when proportionally sizing it. Any bigger and it starts to look, well, kind of gay/ricer. Not to mention it will make it hard to see around.

Let me know if you have any more questions. By the way, assuming it comes out to about 3' long and 8 or 10" tall....it shouldn't cost you more than $30-40 if only using red, and if using the white shadows and text...$70ish....INSTALLED.

I've always wanted a Jeep covered in vinyl. I do want one of those machines that you can wrap a paint job onto the car with.
You can buy one for about 179,000 bucks with the computer and the software and 16 standard colors of vinyl. Not to mention the about 160 hours of training that you need to effectivly learn the program and maintain the cutter

Wow, There seems to be a lot more involved than a vinyl plotter. I've never researched it. I didn't realize it was so cheap. Pocket change.

Better check local laws. Aside from being a pretty bad idea it might be illegal.
Pretty bad idea just seeing-wise you mean? I see people all the time around here that have vinyl murals that take up their whole back window so I'm pretty sure it's not illegal. Can't imagine this place would sell it in that case either.

You guys are talking about two different things. Theres Vinyl - not see thru and only one color unless you make layers. then theres that perforated material that you can see thru from the inside.

Most states, not sure if yours is one, require that you have left and right outside mirrors once the rear window is blocked or covered.

This has not been all that much of an issue since the late 80's early 90's but, the older folks will remember cars with only the drivers side door mirror.

Haha, my Dad's '48 Packard has no outside mirrors, I guess I better not deck it out with a NAXJA rear window decal.
