Have to ask - were your Brown Dog mounts using rubber or poly bushings? I'm guessing poly, though.
.
Nope, my Brown Dogs have the rubber bushings.
Maybe the MORE mounts used a softer rubber.
The BD rubber bushing is fairly small, with little room to move and absorb vibrations.
I played with them for over a year and they never did quiet down, even with a lot of tries at adjusting them.
I never expected them to be as quiet as a stock mount but it got annoying listening to every noise the engine made. I did like the more solid feeling driveline with the BDs.
I switched back to a good set of OEM mounts and have not had a problem...and my XJ does get used a lot off road, I just don't beat it, as many of our trips are a 1000 miles or more from home.
I do inspect the mounts, along with a lot of other stuff, before each trip.
If you are going to hammer your Jeep, definitely go for the BD mounts, if you are are a bit more sensible, good stock mounts will work fine, just keep an eye on them.
It all depends on how you use your Jeep.
Make sure the trans mount is in good shape too.
