My "Hero" Blog

ouch that sucks !!

It was on Hazel just off of 50.

Sucky sucky for sure. Luckily I was able to borrow my buddies car trailer and had another buddy tow me home, rather than getting bent over by AAA and paying $12/mile to get me home. Thank God for good friends! And thanks to the people who called to make sure I was alright and to see if I needed help.

It sure is weird seeing my jeep getting towed behind me on the way home. Makes me want a tow rig and trailer now. So luxurious lol

And Jake, the light bar might be salvageable. I bet it still works but where it's mounting bolts went trough is all torn apart.

If I have a header panel in the attic still its yours. It might be long gone. The attic in my garage scares me and I try not to go up there.

Thanks a lot guys. I'm glad that's all that happened!

Movin quick:

Trying to get a new radiator in tonight

Thanks for the heads up josh! I actually went into autozone late last night and they replaced the old radiator under warranty. Lifetime warranty!

I was able to bend the AC condenser back into place, and it seems to be working fine.

Also I was able to straighten out the passenger side headlight. It should get me by until I can get my hands on a cheap/free headlight bezel and grill.

For the size of the buck that I hit, I'd say the jeep came out pretty darn well. No unibody damage, with only minor front fascia damage.

Glad that you are alright, Kevin. Did you, even for a brief moment, wish you still had your old bumper that you sold me when this happend? Ha.

Hows it all coming along Kevin?

Time for a stinger maybe?

Hahaha yeah everybody was telling me that I should have had a stinger. It would have helped the body significantly, but I'd be afraid that it could have slammed the deer into the ground and under my jeep, rather than out and away from me.

With that said, ill probably be building a stinger for this bumper or the next one lol.

Not much progress on the jeep. It's 100% drive able. Just need to fix the cosmetic stuff now.

Good to hear. I wasn't able to get any pics of the header panel Bc I was running around all day. Will try to get my friend to take some after the rain stops.

Cheaper and probably more reliable to get a new spindle.

Awesome, thanks man!

As for the spindles, I'm trying to find some used ones.. We will see. I'm not in a big rush.

Well I just got my passenger side knuckle back from parts mike.. Maybe ill clean it up and paint it sometime this week.

Also, a good buddy of mine hooked me up with some unused ARP studs for the high steer arms.... for free!

Now I just need ball joints and tube and I'll be able to start making some progress on the steering!
