My Green Machine Blog

this thread is just too funny!!!!

You think that this thread is funny? Try living with a kid who likes to stay up until 3 am each night and then complains that he can't wake up for his college classes. Or how about a kid that never stops eating but weighs about 25 lbs? This is the same kid that likes to sneak into my bedroom and jam my soft, down-filled pillow into the pillowcase as hard as he can, so it ends up looking and feeling like a small boulder. Do you know how difficult it is to fix an expensive pillow like that? They are never the same.

That same kid also likes to poke his finger into ANYTHING I try to eat, slaps the food out of my hand, and pushes my hand into the dip when I'm not looking. That crap pisses me off. His mom just shakes her head in disgust. I'm not sure where we went wrong in his upbringing.

Oh, don't worry about me, though. I've short sheeted his bed, saran wrapped his bedroom door, sabotaged his Jeep while he was at work, hidden his food, and generally tormented him into submission on more than one occasion. I'm still master of the house and I've got tricks up my sleeve that his punk arse has never dreamed of.

What has this blog gone to???
For everything reading along, he's not telling you the whole story haha, he does it more than I do, I learn it from him :)

Prairie City is closed until mid October. Check their website.

actually its not. A guy from Jeepforum.com just went there saturday... I dont know why their website says that. I can call them tomorrow and see whats up if you guys want. I think my only open day is this coming sunday. Then im busy for the next 2 weekends.. finals and graduation (CANT WAIT!!!)

ps.. wat would a good graduation gift be? i was thinking JCR front winch bumper its pricey but i would help pay for it. or a front aussie locker with dif cover

Sorry about the Blog jack..... CARRY ON

Blog jack...naw, I'm thinking this blog (and the Frog Blog) are open to any conversation.

I'd be thrilled if PC is actually open. Our 4x4 club was supposed to have a trail ride there this month but we called it off due to their web site posting.

A good grad gift? You probably should not ask 100K XJ because he'll tell you what he got for a graduation gift and you won't like it (I gave him Old Blue, the '99 XJ Sport that we built and wheeled for a couple of years...he sold it less than a year later when he found the Green Machine. Yeah, I know....I'm pretty cool, eh?).

should of gotten him food!!! it would have probably come to the same amount as the jeep

well i talked to AJ about his custom bumper. Its gonna cost 700:wow:

so i think i might just get the JCR front winch bumper with a hoop.. although i want the pre-runner, i would rather just weld the hoop on myself and save some cash

Man I need a dad like you. A beautiful lifted Jeep as a grad gift? Sheesh

Old Blue was a great Jeep. That thing ran perfectly and we had great memories building and wheeling it. The kid is better off now with the Green Machine considering it is set up with 4.10 gears and 32x11.50x15 and a ton of great hardware. (Shhhh! He thinks is is better than my Frog, but there's no way I'll ever admit to that!)

My grad gift was money, from relatives, and friends. I got about 700 bucks. Blew it all on a rigidco bumper and food. I have an eating disorder, as In i can't afford enough food. (and Im only 155 pounds) hahaha

We did the Rubicon several times, I believe the '08 and '09 Poker Runs and then the 2008 Jeepers Jamboree. We actually made it on 31's and impressed a ton of people (those with 35's or greater that had invested thousands, and the $50k JK's)
It was an awesome grad gift! Nothing can beat a new vehicle transferred to my name, woohoo!
I'm up for Prairie City in the morning on Sunday, but i'd have to leave at 12:30 ish, not sure if it's worth it to rush
3 home made shredded pork tacos weren't enough tonight...more plz? haha

so if i can get on 33s i should be fine right?? cause my ultimate goal is 35s but i dont see that happening anytime soon.

and actually i probably wont be making PC sunday morning. I got invited to burn a barn down with the fire dept. :explosion:yap:

You should be able to do most of the trails in NorCal on 33" tires. Drive without a locker for awhile and get used to your rig, and learn to drive before sizing up. Get protection first (rails, skids, recovery points), then plan your lift and tires.

When you go to a larger tire size, get a locker and gears at the same time to match. 4.56 for 33's, 4.10 for 32's, etc. Lift will dictate your tire size, unless you plan to do a lot of trimming. Most guys piece together a lift, then later complain that their rig drives bad. Nothing wrong with that so long as it is safe, but plan well to save well. Buy or swap quality parts, only.

Wheeling on 31's for a while is good idea.

I've really learned the limits of mine by doing that.

I don't believe in going huge on rubber without the proper gears. Do it once!

I love wheeling on 31's. Nice step up from 235's but not too big to make it a PITA to get into for my handicapped ass!
