Motion to disband the RRC

I call the vote on the motion!

The eyes......:rattle:
The nays :peace:

So the nays have it! RRC stays together!:D

I second the nomination of Swamprat for one of the offices! Quick before he changes his mind, LOL!

I know you have a limited number of XJs in your areas, but how about posting up some threads looking for wheeling buddies on Craigslist? You might find out there are more than you think, especially ones that would like to wheel, but don't have the expertise/knowledge to get started.

thats one of my ideas was to get "spotted cards" so that driving along you see a nice XJ and you slap a card or two dozen on and hope they post up

This is a good idea. I could have used something like that when I lived in Stillwater where there were lots of XJs. I think I would have been happy to find an invitation to join a forum on my Jeep. Sadly, I see very few XJs here.

Oh yeah, I'm glad the RRC isn't disbanding party1:

I did a nice colored handout about the colorado chapter and I slip them under wipers of lifted XJs I run across.

If you can get the file so we can all download it and print some out ourselves.

Well, now that we've settled the disbanding thing, what are we doing about officers?

Are you volunteering for an office?:D

LOL

LOL, I would actually, but I'm going to be spending more than 50% of 2011 in another country. That reminds me, I need to email the BOD and let them know I'm deployed. :)

we are the same chapter, although a bit larger now!!! we have runs quit often,we are just not close enough together to b large groups, which does suck... so lets quit this bull crap talk about quitting and start acting like we care...there are a few of u out there that have made a effort to get things going or plan runs, thats great and we appreciate that. not everyone can travel 6+hrs to go wheel every month, heck some can only manage once a year so lets just deal with it...i like to wheel any chance i get although i go without for months at a time(i am married ya know)...lets just keep planning gettogethers(with or without wheelin) and have fun while we can...just my .02......Rich...

Sorry was refering to people posting crap from 03' (texas chap demise...)

Who says we are going to LET you disband?
Not a chance. I will retire eventually and want to wheel in every state.
You guys will need to be my guides.
:D

You can choose to not have a single chapter event next year. Keep this forum going and see what happens for '12. You will still need to have your BOD positions filled, but without an event there is not much to do.

The national BOD has a program in place to provide money to your chapter to build it. Our Membership Growth and Enhancement program provides $500 for you to use to build your membership. Be it funding an event or a raffle. Some chapters have (or will) use the funds to print out fliers and business cards to hand out whenever you run into another Cherokee owner.

It won't take great leadership, it will take great membership, and I know you already have that. Who cares if you are not as big as my home chapter?
If you can't always get together on the trail, you still can get together here.
Some of my best friends I met on this site.

All I can do is encourage you to keep going. Elect a BOD and have your President participate on the national BOD forum. Lots of ideas and opportunities are there for you.

Here, Here!

I didn't post the '03 stuff to continue the talk but more of a reminder that it did happen and that in that post were some ideas that could have boosted the chapter's activity levels. Kind of a kick in pants-light a fire under our butts intent behind it.

I completly agree, lets be happy with the fact that we have a chapter and stop groaning about the membership. My opinion is that two people is enough to be a chapter!

I am going to agree with Rick here. However, the chapter needs to get a BOD elected. At minimum a president and vp. So far not one person has been officially nominated, seconded, and accepted. All of you guys want the chapter remain, so why don't two or three of you step up to run it! :wantyou:

And BTW, vote for me for President :patriot:
