Mosin nagant websites?

If it doesn't hold a zero feel free to lol but really I don't see what the point is. I'm doing what I want with my rifle.

You should try being positive once in a while.

The bottom bolt is my friends it's way too high and almost hits his tall scope mount. Additionally they solder the bolt on instead of welding.

the rocksolid one is tig'd, then milled down.
For what your friend spent on that mount he could have bought one that mounts to the receiver proper.

I wouldn't do the PU one for the money it costs either. something with a rail is more flexible, allows greater adjustment of height with rings and such.

That Rocksolid is a nice mount! I might have to buy one If I screw this up Lol. Still hesitant to pay 100$ to mount a scope to my 70$ rifle.

Wait how is that different than wheeling xj's? :D

Yeah in but in addition to that defense budget reduction cost me my job.

Nostalgia break! Unrelated to the mosin however.

My dad said this drill was my great grandfathers
A quick google dates it's production in the 1950's
It still works like a champ
If anyone is bored and finds more info on it let me know :P

Well I still have to clean it up a bit but it's all welded. I had a friend TIG it I think it turned out much cleaner that way.
I swept it back too and it feels great. Can't wait to get some trigger time.

I want to buy a 91/30 to scope but I kinda found a tricked out 10/22 today that I couldn't pass up. :D

The amount of money people spend on 10/22's is insane.

Thats no joke. This one has a shooters ridge bull barrel, Hogue overmolded stock and a metal trigger group. Also has a Bushnell Banner adjustable scope on it. only cost $329. I was gonna buy a Mosin but they didn't have any. The Squirrelpocalypse is coming....Be Prepared!

Well I finally got her. She's in great condition. She's a 1944 Tula that was refurbished at some point but still has matching numbers. I'll probably convert this one back to it's original setup when I buy another one.
It took about 5 hours to get all of the cosmoline off and cut my stock to fit it. The stock is horribly molded in china and I had to grind most of the surface down. Tomorrow I'm going to free float the barrel. Glass bedding is definitely on the list to counter this horrible molding.

I'm going to polish the bolt to get rid of the horrible machine work and make her operate easier. Then I want to coat it "colt grey"

dad's should be back from moly resin today. We'll drop it in the stock and take a picture.

That the ATI stock you can get on Amazon for like $65?

If so I just got the same stock last week and it installed fine on my rifle. I didn't have to grind any surfaces down and had no fitment issues and rounds fed through the mag fine. I might do a bit of sanding around the barrel eventually but that's just personal preference. :dunno:
