I spent a while looking into replacements for the IAT / Intake Air Temperature / MAT / Manifold Air Temperature / Air Charge Temperature Sensor for my 1988 XJ, since the OEM sensor is no longer manufactured *anywhere*. All this info is out there in a dozen different places, but I figured I'd post this with all the data that I struggled to find for future Googling.
  • The only option I found with OEM threads (which are 1/4NPT) is Tomco #12132 (used to be 12120 until the wiring changed), although the connector doesn't match OEM and you'll need to splice it. Polarity doesn't matter, it's just a thermistor. You have to call them to order. If you want drop-in OEM, this is the way you should go.
  • If you're willing to tap for a new thread size, GM sensors match the correct resistance, but again require tapping the intake for 3/8NPT (frequently listed semi-incorrectly as 3/8-18). Most late 80s-90s GM vehicles seem to use the same sensor, based on the "compatible vehicles" listings at the parts store websites. It's an AC Delco 213-190 or Delphi TS10077. OEM interchange part numbers include 25036751, 25037034, 25037225, 25037334, 5744430, 8250373340. Injector.com, diyautotune.com and other third party sites have identical sensors available that aren't listed with part numbers.
  • If you're planning to move the sensor to the airbox, as some do, the sensor for a 2001 Pontiac Firebird is the correct resistance and isn't threaded, so might be a little bit easier to use. Opinions are mixed on moving it, but it will get it out of the way of the oil from the valve cover and move it to somewhere less affected by the heat from the exhaust manifold (which should mean more accurate readings, and better fuel mixture)

The resistance table for these sensors aligns with the Renix FSM, but in more detail:
