OK, to start let me apologise for the pic quality.. i'm no DrMoab/Handlebars/IntrepidXJ.

And if anyone can tell me how to rotate the photo's coming from my Go-Pro... all 300 of them, i'd be appreciative!

The weather on this trip was a factor, lots of overcast days and rain/wind. Some days we just hung around the cabin and relaxed, other days we did a bit of exploring hoping to see wildlife... which was very scarce on this trip.

On the way out, passing the Toledo Jeep assembly plant..

There were Tornado touchdowns the night we left home all across the midwest from what i hear, glad we were clear of them. We did see evidence in some areas, debris and stray storms.

Lots of windfarms as well..

Everybody's getting into the Overland action.. maybe i'm overthinking the gear we actually need?

I dont think i'v ever crossed the Missouri River when there wasnt construction.

This was my first trip cross the country in spring, it was odd seeing everything still deep green and fresh.

Are all 300 go pro shots worth the time? I'd pick the best ones and manually rotate them.

If you need them all done at once I'm sure there is a way to do it in something like Light Room or photoshop. Just select all and do a batch edit.

Getting close to the Badlands..

In Wall SD, just outside Badlands NP. I have been here several times before, first time i stayed at this Family owned and operated Motel. Welsh's Motel.. clean, comfortable and one price for all, no discounts. We hit them on the way home also.

The following am was one of my fav's, leaving the Badlands and rolling through western SD's rolling hills.

It was around here while climbing the Continental Divide pass outside Butte Montana where my bud had issues with his Jeep. Sputtering and loss of power, thank god we had just passed all the slower traffic and were able to pull over at the emergency parking at the summit. We opted to call it a day and get a room in Butte..

Next am we chatted with these guys. Headed out of Texas enroute for the Dalton in Alaska then south to the Florida Keys.

We made it to outside Dillon where we did our last Cabin Tour a few years back, then headed for a different cabin this time around that a local NFS Firefighter/Jeeper told me about.. he did well.

Back to the ride into the first cabin..

And we made it...

First order of business was to raise the flag for the next 5 days..

The next few days we relaxed, drank some, ate well, then drank some more. The previously mentioned NFS Firefighter had his workmates drop off a load of wood for us, thanks Nate! Took me two days to split for the stove and outside firering, left the suplus stacked for the next tennants.

This cabin (Birch Creek Guard Station) has electric as of a few years ago and running cold water. It's almost an exact duplicate of the cabin we stayed at 5 years ago very near here, both were previously NFS Ranger stations. We enjoyed them both!

My son Gary brought along his fly fishing gear, he wanted to try his luck on the Beaverhead River. We started south of Dillon just outside Clark Canyon Reservoir.

Quite a few outfitters on this section of river. Even though we saw a few decent sized Trout come out Gary wasnt fortunate, unless you count the large Brown that he say's he lost. He fished a few hundered yard section.. next time.

This was a nice area and we found a few dispersed campsites in the hills. Great day to have lunch sitting and looking at the surroundings.

Was supposed to hook up with MT-Mike on this day, guess he couldnt get away as he never called me back. Next time Mike!

That was our time outside Dillon Montana in Birch Creek Guard Station.. time to head north towards Glacier National Park and our second cabin in Polebridge.. which is just a few miles from British Columbia. However, there was no entrance into Canada from here since 9/11.

Another rainy overcast day..

I was pretty intrigued by the area just south and through Missoula, looked like a nice place to live.

The drive along Flathead Lake was nice, lots of big $$ homes along it's shores. We made it as far as Kalispell this night, then into Polebridge the next day.

I had never seen this before, just outside Glacier was this "Wildlife Bridge" for them to safely cross the highway.

We arrive at our second home on the trip, Schnaus Cabin. This is a large cabin with more space than the first, two bedrooms and a loft.

We immediately made a few friends..

The view from the porch.. this would be the scenery for the next few days. Just a few hundred yards away is the river marking the boundry for Glacier National Park. Felt like we had it all to ourselves.

I'm sure i'll post lots of pics of this mountain range as the weather would clear out and show itself later.
