Montana Cabin Tour 2012

Last trip i shared prior to leaving on was a miserable failure, ending up in the hospital 3 days prior to leaving for Utah. I didnt want to jinx it again.. add the fact i didnt know i was going till a few days ago.

Getting a few hours sleep, then my son Gary (OverlandMJ here) and i are up at 11PM to meet a bud on the Pa Turnpike at midnight.

What this thread lacks in planning should be made up for in pictural content.. but i'm no shutternerd. Hope i dont disappoint.

Plan is to arrive in Dillon Montana in 3 days, some time Monday afternoon/evening. I'll update as i can..

We made it to just outside Des Moines last night just a bit over thousand miles. On to Wall SD and a few cold ones tonight.

In Butte Montana, the other rig with us had issues on I90 at the Continental Divide summit and had to pull over in the truck pulloff... after 45 minutes of letting it cool all was fine coming down the mountain.

Gonna see about a local Jeep dealer and a WJ intake insulation shield... unless someone can suggest a better alternative readily available?

Andy, we are in the YJ again.

Might be able to toss a few pics up later. Nothing special.. just I90 scenery.

They are in Montana. That means they probably don't have access to the net. In fact I don't think it's been invented up there yet. Either that or they have been eaten by a grizzly bear.

Haven't been eaten yet. Internet is only available close to town. Taking a few sce if trails Today try to get time to upload and post this weekend. Tomorrow am we head north to glacier. We hear they got some weather up there.

If a member is eaten by a grizzly bar and it's not posted to the Internet does the bear still have to poo in the woods?

We are in Kalispell MT, 35 miles from Glacier NP. Tomorrow am we head into our 2nd cabin of the trip.

I'll try to get a few pics uploaded to PB, the wireless here isnt cooperating very well. My apologies on the pics and updates thus far..

Havent seen much in the way of wildlife yet, hope that changes.

Theres a white pre 97 XJ running around here i'v spotted twice.. passed an XJ on fullwidths running along side of Flathead Lake.

Made it home...finally. Late last night around midnight the alternator decided to give it up.. drove a few hundred miles till the batt died. Made it to within 10 miles of my buds house, he left and came back with the battery from his Scrambler.. which got us home.

Got in at 5:30am after close to 1200 miles yesterday.. long/tiring drive.
