Welcome to the first annual MWC Big Dog Run. The purpose of this event is to highlight some of the toughest off road destinations available in the states represented by the Midwest Chapter.
This event will be at a different location each year.
Due to the severe nature of the trails we will be doing there will be build requirements in place for this event.
They are as follows:

Dual lockers (no LSD), 33" tires minimum and 35's+ are preferred, no D35's, 8.25's are OK up to 35's with alloy axle shafts, no stock diff gears, sticks must have low t-case gears, skid plates and proper body protection, winch mandatory, no stock steering linkage, no 260x axle joints, axle joints must be snap ringed or have the caps tack welded, alloy front shafts are highly recommended and are mandatory for anything bigger than 33" tires, axle gearing should be appropriate for tire size. Any stock suspension mounts should have additional welds or reinforcement. Everyone should have a reasonable amount of spare parts and tools.

Other, non-mechanical, requirements are a thick skin, a sense of humor, and a “go with the flow” attitude.
Crybabies need not apply.
You must also be willing to accept the following:
-Body damage WILL happen.
-Mechanical damage is likely.

Some locations will have other, less difficult, trails available. Those with lesser built vehicles are welcome to participate at these locations. This might also offer an opportunity to grab a right seat for a day to experience hardcore wheeling

Registration form will be available shortly.

Preregistration deadline is May 1
Price for preregistration will be $45 for 3 days wheeling, a BBQ dinner Saturday night, night wheeling runs Friday and Saturday, and an event T-Shirt.
That cost includes one passenger.

After April 30 the standard park rates will apply.
Dinner and night run tickets will be avail for $10

Additional T-shirts will be avail. Cost is $15 preregistration and $20 at the event.

I have reserved a campground about 1-2 miles from the park.
It has a few multiple bedroom mobile homes available, (1) RV hookup, and primitive camping (however the campers will be able to get electricity and share showers/bathrooms with the mobile homes).
Prices are:
- $15/night/person for the mobile homes.
- $10/night for the RV hookup
- $3/person/night for the primitive campsites.
Mobile home BR are 1st come basis.
PM me for avail.

Here is some park info from Ron Maximoff, the owner:

The park has 850 acres of moderate to steep hills and gullies along with dry creek bed trails. Our 25 trails that are currently open are rated Easy, Intermediate, or Extreme. The park leans heavily towards the intermediate and extreme which you won't see in one visit (some trails you may not even be able to complete), with enough easy to keep most drivers entertained. The easy trails are for the smaller tired vehicles but they're still trails, not logging roads, that have to be driven so no whining!! There will be plenty of trail guides available to show your groups around until you get used to the trail system. The trails are all marked and you will be given a color trail map at sign-up. Also, if anyone wishes to bring an ATV or motorcycle (we have a professionally designed motocross track in the park and ATV trails) they are required to wear a helmet.

We have 5 mountain lined meadows that we keep mowed for primitive camping equipped with porta-toilets, fire pits and free firewood. There's no electric or water. There are several full facility campgrounds in the area along with cabin rentals one mile from the entrance to the park. (This information will be made available on our web-site in the near future). We also have a new 2-bedroom, air conditioned, fully equipped log cabin in the park that rents for $100 per night.

We are 2 miles from the Currrent River, and have an agreement with Jadwin Canoe Rental that will pick your people up for a float trip down the Current River and then drop them back off at the park. Note: They are responsible for making their own arrangements--info about Jadwin Canoe Rental is available on our web-site at www.flatnasty.net.

We are located 15 miles from Salem with hospitals, 3 auto parts stores, restaurants, Wal-Mart, etc. There is a convenience store one mile from the entrance to the park which has gasoline, beer, liquor and camping supplies along with a small grill for a quick meal.

Please, either PM me or start a new thread with any questions or comments.
I'm trying to keep this as an info thread and don't want it going all over the place.
