Deep mud is very taxing on a drivetrain and requires alot of horsepower and higher gearing, but smaller amts of mud that you would probably see in wheeling without hitting the huge mud pits that the big pickups hit would be alot less taxing on a drivetrain due to the mud giving way. In rock crawling you are constantly negotiating rocks and scraping over them and if you lose traction and then get it back suddenly, you could break stuff due to the torque of reconnecting and getting traction. I have done both kinds of wheeling, Mud wheeling in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana & now rock crawling in California and like both kinds, but rock crawling in California coupled with the awesome scenery makes it much better out her in Cali. There aren't alot of places to wheel in the Midwest and then places like the Badlands in Attica, IN charge you $20/day to wheel in there 700 acre park, where the Rubicion, Fordyce are free and offer much better scenery and potential body damage. :guitar:

If I'm looking at the same bent up piece of steel tubing under there, I think that's actually the draglink. It's connected to the pitman arm at the other end. Best booty fab I've seen in a while...
