mud is for rednecks with big V8's who like to get dirty!! not fun at all! trust me i was young and thougth i was cool once. MUD isn't 4wheelin
Rock crawling is the most technical/challenging form of 4 wheeling and our rigs take the most beating. Mud is alot less forgiving on the drivetrain and is alot of fun, but after doing the Rubicon and part of Fordyce I agree that rock crawling is a lot more fun as well as technical. Mudding is fun through a forest/creek etc but does get kind of boring when you don't have to navigate around/over rocks. We do have a decent amount of mud in the Northern Redwood/coast area, but not nice black Midwest mud that is really the best kind of mud to fling around. The mud here has lots of clay in it and cakes to everything and doesn't clean out of your tires as good. I have mud cemented to my muffler and other underbody comp that I almost have to chisel off, it is like cement.
